What do you do after Level 3 2365?

Jack, 12 months for Level 2 is correct but 18 months for Level 3 is straining it out a bit mate. 1 full day per week should take 9 months. Have a word with the college and see if they are only doing 1/2 day? Beyond this, have a word with XS Training via private message and ask if all the...

Level 2 qualified, can't get into trade

Josh do not give up. In this game and at the stage you are at it is very difficult and frustrating. As above, Jim has given great advice. Sign up with an agency or two, work hard, prove yourself and hopefully get taken on??? (don't chase the carrot on a stick though. Leave that for the donkeys...

Which smokes to fit - mains or battery powered?

"As defined in Buildings Regulations Document B, new residential buildings, conversions or houses of multiple occupation (HMOs) require a mains-powered interlinked smoke alarm with a dedicated battery backup supply. With this in mind, it’s imperative that landlords work to implement these...

Fault on underground Sub Mains cable

Had the same fault as above but on a smaller scale (only 30m-35m run). BS88 L1 blowing taking out a third of a small office block. No obvious reason why until I looked at the newly laid cable run. It was across the entrance of a private car park and the entrance was being used for access to a...

Testing a socket in the middle of a distribution circuit.

Hey up Tel.... he did say it's an outdoor socket ;) SWA does not need an up front rcd. Change the socket to an rcd socket so this sub main is a continuous feed t the summer house cu OR make it a junction box and run new cable to an outside socket? Whatever is best for the location.

    Chint Consumer Units

Before amd 3, the plastic CU's felt cheap and nasty. I've had cardboard shoe boxes with more rigidity lol. Around the same time on a suby job I was given a Chint TP DB to install in a shop. Not bad but others are available for not much more money????

    Diesel Scrapage scheme???

Most Trades People like us drive a diesel van and over the years the price of diesel, (EM.... NO2) road tax has increased due to the realized facts that our mode of transport is not as good as what they thought it was back in 2003/5 (or there abouts?) In the cities you can smell it and the...
