of course you are right, I'm pointing out a way to overcome those disadvantages and still have all the benefits of the method, with multiple radial 'legs' meeting at a point (CU or JB) individual legs can be isolated for testing / fault finding.
Pretty sure the OSG guidance is rule of thumb to save you doing calculations, if your circuit design complies with all the requirements, it complies, end of. If it were me I would be thinking about ease of testing, ability to easily break down a circuit in the event of a fault and practicality...
This has been my working assumption, although I don't believe I have ever seen it in black and white, I started to wade through the data sheets but l lost heart, its complicated by the wagobox not being manufactured by Wago themselves. Maybe somebody has a link to hand??
Anyway it's the only (I...
I've used the 41A 221 Wagos and the Wagobox they fit in (the one divided in 2 not 3) for extending 32A 6mm circuits before on several occasions and they do the job..I think technically not MF though and I'm not aware of an MF solution that's available, been waiting for one for a while, this sort...
I can only echo what @Pretty Mouth has said having started myself as an adult learner. You can enroll onto the C&G course at any FE college that offers it (it was 2360 Parts 1 & 2 in my day but it's bound to have changed.) and then start applying for jobs whilst doing as much of your own...
I think they are just for the older metal consumer units that had a plastic visor, pretty sure I looked at them before to upgrade one I had fitted on an ongoing project before amd3 that didn't get finished til...well tbh it's still not finished!! Client wasn't interested...I figured ok well it...
The Crabtree pullcord is fairly easy to terminate in 10mm provided there is some free play in the cables above the ceiling so you can dress them and then move the whole cable up into the void to terminate, ideally with a timber batten to fix the switch to with the cables going either side...
I remember reading your post on this back along and was conflicted , I couldn't make my mind up if I was in awe of your determination or (with respect) dumbfounded as to why you bothered! I must say in your position or if in the future they decide to eject those of us with 'grandfather rights'...
Indeed, I have just renewed and don't have the NVQ, nor , at 56 and a self employed one man band, am I planning on doing it anytime soon ! The assessor described my assessment as 'very smooth'
Didn't know her personally but always appreciated her knowledgeable posts, she was definitely one of the ones you always took notice of if she contributed. Very sad news, RIP
Yes Thanks, I had found that Hager socket but having priced up that with a type B RCD and a PEN fault device and installing a dedicated circuit and all associated enclosures etc seemed as I said ...pointless as you would then be not far off the realms of having a proper EV charger installed..the...
I'll start by saying I don't install EV chargers and have not kept up to any great extent on regs changes etc but an existing customer has asked for a 13a socket for her EV granny charger in a 2nd home. (the previous outdoor socket has melted!).
After doing a bit of reading including 722 I have...
I totally agree, on a new TT install or a replacement CU I pretty much always install a Wylex 'S' type RCD upfront in a Wylex Isolator enclosure (plastic) which fits perfectly and has restraint for the tails built in, has the bonus of fault protection for submains or other circuits you might...
That's if cash survives this government...! Not to mention all manner of limits to freedom of speech that may be coming that would criminalise dissent from 'The Party Line' on important issues around race , gender and goodness knows what else and also the devolution of power from elected...
Pretty sure a Grant Vortex is an oil fired combi and these do require a HW programmer to prevent them firing up 24/7 as they cycle to maintain their fairly large volume of internally stored HW. Does sound like the link you mention might be overriding the roomstat, is this a newly installed system?
But a protest nonetheless, in the absence of the option to vote for none of the above. In my constituency the Tories have held the seat since absolutely forever and have just lost by a large majority to the Limp-dums, I know anecdotally that this is down to protest voting, the message however...
It does send a message though if an extraordinary number of people spoil their ballots, it's an expression of disgust of the parlous state of politics and politicians in this country. I don't really believe in tactical voting, I think you should vote with your conscience and there is nobody...
