Is the Victron inverter going to be supplying the house in parallel with the mains supply or will there be a changeover switch and, if so, where will it be located?
In any case there will need to be some overcurrent/fault protection for the cable to the outbuilding irrespective of the...
If you're installing conduit, trunking or capping, bear in mind that the wood will move. If it's fairly new, the timber will dry out and shrink in width so the building might be an inch lower in a year's time. On a similar job, I used pvc conduit and left plenty of room in the joints for...
Has anybody installed the new Instinct accessories from Crabtree? I like the look of them and they have some nice features for ease of installation. Proper cage clamp terminals (does any other manufacturer offer this?) and lined-up terminals.
How do you find them to install and where are you...
The Marcrist dust extract system is pretty good.
A few issues:
If using a core bit with slots, you need to tape them up to stop the dust flying out. The tape wears off and needs renewing for each hole drilled.
Using a Henry works OK, but I suspect that the restriction in airflow causes the Henry...
But in this case (and most others), the rest of the earth fault loop will add very little impedance on top of that provided by the interface between the rod and the bulk of the earth. So the difference between Ra and Ze will, in most cases, be negligibly small.
If I've understood you correctly, powering up an installation with a multimeter in series with a cpc or earthing conductor is a bad idea. If the multimeter internal fuse pops, you lose the earth and the exposed conductive parts are likely to rise to 230V.
15 years seemed a bit short, so I looked it up.
BS 7671 : 1992, amendment 1, 1994 (sixteenth), 522-06-06 describes the 'safe' zones as currently defined. Can't find it in my copy of the fifteenth.
522-06-07 covers cables outside the zones; earthed conduit, mechanical protection, etc.
This LED driver requires a DALI digital controller to operate. Why did you choose this particular driver?
Connections required are line, neutral and earth, plus two wires for the digital control signal.
If the resistance between the output positives and between the output negatives is near enough zero ohms (less than 0.1 ohms?) then the two outputs are probably connected to the same output internally. I would use both output cables paralleled up to share the current.
An EIC with no notification. If this is a repeated requirement, then maybe a custom cert derived from the model cert in BS7671, but modified (and simplified) to suit.
