Adding sockets to a radial circuit in different directions

Maybe not expect it to be certified at all, I know of at least 4 house sales in NI in this last few months of which 3 were completed with no regard to the state of the electrics, 1 at over £200000 and 2 x in the region of £350000 all 3 houses were over 30 years old. In ROI or mainland UK...

Adding a Light to a light switch

It possibly is a t&e supply in with two t&e switch wires out to two separate lights which have been disconnected. This could be checked with a volt meter if you have 230 between the connected live and the black in the connector.

Bad Advice From A "Spark" ???

Tvs in most countries in Europe do not come with 13 amp plugs as was rightly said in post 65, the main reason, 13 amp plugs are needed is the 32 amp ring, additional protection is required at each socket-plug connection to protect the flexible cord fitted to the plug, hardly needed when the...

Bad Advice From A "Spark" ???

Any idea of just how much quicker you reckon a 5 amp fuse will blow before a 6 amp MCB? I'm pretty sure a lamp blowing will take out a MCB more times than a tv will.

Bad Advice From A "Spark" ???

In post 70 Pete E mentioned 'fished down behind the plaster board without needing to worry about any cross studding'. I agree, in addition, in this 'scenario' even if there was no RCD protection a short length of earthed flexable metal conduit dropped down the stud bushed on to a metal plug...
