Is my light switch wiring wrong?

Yes they are a thing. Basically a twice as thick box with no back.

Is my light switch wiring wrong?

Thanks Snowhead, that's exactly what was wrong. Bloody council must have had it back to front. Half arsed job at best.

Is my light switch wiring wrong?

Okay that makes sense so I found my multimeter and tested the 3 wires to earth. One was 0 volts, one was 247 volts and the other was 195 volts. Two lives?

Is my light switch wiring wrong?

Probably an easy answer but I need to clarify. I have a 2 hand switch with 3 wires. All red wires, no neutral. One will be the common which will go into L on the new switch and the other 2 will go into L1 and L3 (that's the only connections with terminals) . Lights are not working so what could...

    Concrete wall so no.

    What if anything Is availablee

@DPG I know it would be easier but I want it as minimal as possible, and you can't get as minimal as having no cupboard at all, lol. @Lucien Nines, I would use the same fuses as would be in the original plugs for each appliance. It would be safer and possibly less expensive than the actual...

    Of course absolutely.

I could use inline fuse holders like one from HERE. That would be safer no?

    What if anything Is availablee

Ok. Points taken. Thanks for all your information. It is all very much appreciated. HandySparks, do you mean that if I used THIS to connect all the items to and then used a cable with a plug on the end to power it all, so it is pretty much like an extension lead, then that would be more...

Lastly guys, what is your opinion on having a non fused / non plugged appliance?

    What if anything Is availablee

As I posted earlier in the thread, there is no unit/box/cabinet/or other furniture. It is only a tv on a wall with two floating shelves. There is a subwoofer below it all but not an enormous one that is enormous enough to hide 8 plugs behind. Anyway I think I've found the solution thanks to...

    What if anything Is availablee

I agree that the individual fuses would be lost. I have no intention of moving anything again in the near future but if I did then I would only have to disconnect the appliance and stick a plug on it. As far as I can see there is nothing really suitable for my needs currently on the market hence...

    What if anything Is availablee

Richard you are now hitting the nail on the head. That is much more like it . I'll see if there is a smaller one. I still like the thought of the lever or push wire type though as it would be smaller still.

    What if anything Is availablee

So it is doable if I use lever connectors instead of push connectors?

    What if anything Is availablee

I would love this to be the answer I am looking for but I somewhat doubt it. As I've been out of sparking for too long and not up to speed on regulations, I am going to assume that I can't use these http://m.NoLinkingToThis/p/8-way-push-wire-connector-773-series-pack-of-50/78075 and simply use one...

    What if anything Is availablee

Interesting. Why did I not think of just running the extension under the floor and dropping the cables straight down at the skirting edge? Access would be awkward in any future access though.

    What if anything Is availablee

Thanks for all your replies so far folks. The setup is as minimal as possible. There are no cabinets or units at all. Just a tv on the wall, a very short length of trunking, a floating glass shelf, another floating glass shelf, and then another small length of trunking to hide wires which are...
