    Unidentifed Cables from Main Supply

    Hi,All That definately looks like the branch feed to next door by the DNO. It is fused,due to the fact that it runs in a steel pipe. Standard practice many moons ago, If those cables go faulty,New set up now,is concentric cable connected unfused at bottom of cut out,under the cover.

    Ha Buzzlightyear. Just to let you know,Us older Linesmen were all fully qualified ,apprentice trained electricians,before we went on to industrial training to be Linesmen,Cable Jointers or Sub Station Fitters.Dont think all DNO craftsmen take three months to get trained up.

    Losing power to house post meter upgrade??

    0.47 ohms sounds a bit high.Might be a high resistance intermittent fault on the incoming main supply.If its a CNE service,must be under 0.35 ohms.Get the DNO out to test the ELI on their cable.

    Ha,still use a 20mm hand auger to drill new electricity poles.The new preservitaves never dry out,so you either burn out your battery drill or warm up your shoulders;)

    hey Strima. I work for a DNO and can confirm lots of loose connections after smart meters are fitted.

    looks like that earth cable is just earthing the pipe.those v.i.r. cables dont like being moved after 60 years
