Hi, I am looking to have some rewiring done in my house and want to know if it is possible to have a permanent step down light system in my kitchen. I have some wonderful lights from when I lived in the US and would like to have them fitted here in the UK, Is it possible and what would be needed?
At the moment I’m working overseas at a BFPO address in the Middle East. The climate is warm (30-35 at the moment) and dry.
While conducting a visual inspection of a distribution board I thought I had stepped on an ant nest as my right foot was 'tingling' as I was working away.
On looking down...
I just got a 30A/50A dual power plug to fit into my dryer outlet I also got a 15ft dryer cable 10/2 with a ground the colors are white and then dark grey with a bare copper for ground. I'm trying to connect this to my 220v lead furnace. The wires off of my furnace are blue, grey, and green with...
here in where I work, the most common 1-phase power comes in 220V, so therefore I bet most of the 1-phase circuit protection devices sold here are for 220V. Very few of them indicates specifically that they can operate in 220V or 110V system, while the others don't say anything at all.
My...

I purchased some glass lighted shelves in Italy and need to install them in my home in Canada. The fixture inside is 220-240V 50Hz with a 21W fluorescent tube. Can I connect them to my 110V 60Hz? I plugged one in and it seems to work. I also purchased a 110V 60Hz fixture here in Canada but it...
Hi all,
I recently purchased a Chef's Choice Cone Maker 838, which is a fairly basic waffle iron. The problem is, that as it is a product from the USA its operating voltage is 120V at 60Hz and 1050 Watt (these are probably the max values). Would there be any way of converting this to the UK...
Hi,
I am looking for a device or way of protection single phase 220v equipment from overvoltage.
There is a device AVS30 from www.sollatek.com that does this, however if the voltage is above 320v then the AVS30 is itself damaged.
Is there something that would protect up to 400v.
thanks
John
