Hi Everyone, a quick question for you all, if on discovering a property had no main incoming earth, there were no earth block (tnc-s) to connect off either, you installed an earth rod and the reading was acceptable below 200 ohms, i think, what would you use on your fuseboard for your main...
Help!
Sorry having a bad day.
I understand the concept behind touch contact of 50v and the above 1666 ohms. But when physically testing with 17th ed dilog and testing a TT system 30mA RCD. At 1x and 5X what reading would you see on your meter? or would you just test the mechanical aspect...

However as apparantly there is a need to protect all cabling...

Hey all, I seem to have it in my head that the max zs, regardless of what breaker you do the test from, on a 30ma rcd is 1667 ohms. But I can only find a reference to this when it comes to tt systems. Does this still apply on tns, tncs systems and if so where is it in the regs? Thanks all in...
been looking at a cu today, sum of us had a discussion about rcbo's n rcd's.
Righty, what we have is a split board, 30ma rcd on one side, and 100ma s type main switch on the other. Got Cb's on the 30ma side which is fine, but on the 100ma side theres 2 x 30ma rcbo's. Now does this contravy...
