Extending a DNO approved 8kW system

I have a customer that is more in love with solar than I am. We originally installed a 3.68kW back in July and have just upgraded her to an 8kW. New proposal for DECC to (hopefully) allow good level of FIT within current budget

If FIT payments were only for 15 or 20 years would this help with spending cap? I was thinking of asking Greg Barker, via my MP, if he had considered reducing the period in which FITs are paid. In my experience most customers only really care about payback and simple ROI so if it went down to...

why does 17th ed allow so much power per wire size than NEC?

    here's one example. table 4d4a column 3 for 240mm2 shows 409amps/3phase. at 380Y/220v thats = 155KW. NEC table 310.16 for 75 degree C wire, 500MCM [thats 253 mm2] allows 380 amps/3phase. at 208Y/120v thats = 79KW. Why the big difference - almost 100% difference ???

3.68 kW or 4.0 Kw - does SP Networks (Scottish Power) allow 4.0Kw installations?

Just started in North Wales. I am confused between the 16a 3.68 kW requirement (eg SSE Scottish and Southern Energy) in their area without surveys etc. and the 4 kW maximum allowed for the FIT and the fact that at 4 kw the installation falls outside the limits of G83 requirements. The...

Hi Chaps. I know that if you are qualified as a 'domestic installer', although you can do installation work and issue certificates, you are still not qualified to do 'Periodic Inspections' on 'dwellings' unless you also have 2391.. But how about 2392? does this also qualify you to do...
