Has any manufacturer come out with a compliant flush mounted CU? The ones I can see have either a plastic back and a metal door or a metal back and a plastic door.
It looks as if compliant CUs will have to have opaque metal doors. In this case I can't see the point of the door being some sort...
Hello,
Was just wondering if the model forms are available to look at/download yet. I have just checked on the IETs website, and they still only have amendment 1.
Looking at my yellow book, the schedule of inspections is now similar (but not identical) to the EICR, and MEIWC now includes RCD...
URGENT INFORMATION

Consumer units compliant with amendment 3 have to pass some kind of glow test to BSEN61439-3
I like many have seen and read information suggesting that all domestic consumer units will shortly need to be installed constructed of steel rather than plastic as a result of this new wonder ruling...
Like no doubt many others, e.mails from the NIC are coming through thick and fast relating to the 3rd ammendment.
All these guys must sit around a table for hours working out what changes can be made to current regs, at cost to us sparks "of course" and even to the point of changing consumer...
How do you think this latest amendment will effect you in your working life and in particular what do you think is a positive change and what do you think is a negative change?
If if there is anything we are struggling to understand let's put our heads together to try and work it out.
