Hello. I am installing a CCTV system for my mum. It's a basic IP camera setup, with up to 4 cameras and a recorder. I plan to have the NVR in the side attic out of the way, so I need a power socket in there.
The last few days I've been doing a bit of research about it. Trying to identify...
Im wondering if any body has used a kneeling board in attics. The kit I'm looking for was A kind of folding contraption like a mug holder for the wall. You could turn it into a kneeling board or push it narrow and it would become a walkway. First seen them maybe 8 years ago. Googles failed me...

Evening folks. Just out of interest I wondered what methods you guys are using in lofts / attics to keep your cables out of the mountains of insulation you can find these days?
Are you running your cables under insulation against the plasterboard or are you trying to clip to the roof trusses...
Hi all
Went to a bungalow today to install a bathroom light to find the CU had been installed in the corner of the attic.
The owner is a lady in her mid 50s. She has to claim into the loft (loft ladder) and across the attic to the corner (no boarded) to access the CU if it trips.
Would...

hi all.. have been asked to price for attic conversion and on my first look around today they say all the cables existing running around the ceiling need to be jigged around to suit new joists.
the cables run mostly on top of a piece of wood where the truss's meet at ceiling level, and they...

I'm looking to board out the middle of my attic and was wondering what to do about the cables. The majority of cables are placed around the edge of the attic in the eaves so are on top of the insulation and are not a problem, but there are still some down the middle for landing lights and...

Chaps,
Is it OK, regulations-wise, to run my cable across the top of the ceiling joists in the attic or do they need to be clipped beneath the top line if running in-line with the joists and drilled through if running perpendicular?
Thanks
