Hi,
Hoping someone can help a diy-er during this period, I got bored, but I wish I’d left my video doorbell alone.
Decided it was also time to get rid of the old ringer which I shoved a 0v-24v DC transformer in when i purchased the doorbell and obviously the chime casing never fitted properly...
Is there a way of adding an additional wireless chime to an existing wired doorbell installation? Is there a product on the market that includes maybe a module to add to the existing chime that triggers a wireless chime further in the house?
Have a customer in a largish property that is...
Ok so I tried to replace my door bell, but when I took it out the wires were twisted and snapped off too short to rewire. I’m a trainee electrician with little to no experience so I’m stuck.
Can I get some more wire and try to extend it by wrapping it around the old wire and covering it with...

Hi all,
Need a brass bell push for a job, can anyone recommend one that they've used and has held up for a length of time. I'm still haunted by the old round byron ones that used to get fitted on site when I used to do all the snagging when I was on the books. Was forever going back tweaking...
Hi Folks
I've been trying to work out whether a doorbell will work with approximately 16m run of bell wire. I've tried to find out volt drop, resistance (to calculate volt drop), or even CSA of typical bell wire. But no luck. I tested an approx. 3m length with my MFT and got 0.87 Ohms. That...

Hi Guys, I'm after a realistic outside dummy alarm bell box to cover Sky cable. It's a new house that's wired for Sky, but not used. I'm thinking of an empty bell box to house the Sky cable in case required for later use.
Thanks

Hi guys,
Really hoping for some simple advice after a 2 year battle with my Ring Pro doorbell. To cut a long story short, and spending £ on several plugin transformers and multiple replacement Pros, I have decided to use the 24v bell transformer supplied from Ring.
So, (and excuse incorrect...

Hi Guys,
Please can I have some advice on IP67 switches. I would like to use outside to replace bulky plastic switch boxes available on the market. One will be used for a light switch and another for a door bell. I plan to use a stainless steel push switch mounted on the face of a small sealed...
Morning all,
Hope you’re all well.
I have replaced my entry phone system for the same one just a fresher one as have been decorating.
However, the dummy I am, I didn’t take a pic of where the wires go and now I’m lost. I’ve got the sound working when someone pushes the buzzer downstairs, but...
I am trying to find a supplier to supply a slightly customised Bell door entry system i.e. not exactly one of their standard kits. I used to deal directly with Bell whose sales dept is excellent but now they say they won't supply direct. I need a supplier who is at least capable of understanding...

Hi, security isn't really my field. But I'm looking at going down the smart home system for indoors. I'm looking at Loxone, I'm after a good sounder for outside (research has come back with Rapier?). Also a good CCTV that will work with Loxone (although most will anyway).
Thanks

Can anyone advise where I could obtain a chrome “ normally on” switch plate. Sorry if I’m not being very clear but the switch needs to be momentarily off when the switch pressed, the opposite to a bell push.
Thanks
