Hi,
I have something coming up soon and it is running a new 63 amp supply in a hotel. The current DB is GE board. As we know new 63 amp triple pole breakers are as rare as rocking horse feet. Does anyone know what the next best fit will be. Have heard Hager is a good match.
I know it won't...
Warning lads! 2 Main switch boards we have fitted recently have burnt out! would seem at factory they have crossthreaded the neutral bar link at top of board! we always check tightness of connections but it would seem at first sight its tight But its not (only by less than mill) clients load up...
I've just had a look at pricing a rewire, house is probably over 100 years old and has rubber coated wiring in use from whenever it was modernised.
The ceilings are boarded with a soft, cardboardy board that has a bumpy surface and the joins are taped (none of it skimmed) full room lengths in a...
Living out in the sticks. I have come across old split phase installations a few times and done a little maintenance on them. These installations usually consist of a old 3 rewireable db with only 2 phases used.
Well for the first time I have been asked to add some circuits which requires a...
First time post although avid reader. And first post is a question, sorry!
What are people's thoughts about paralleling fuse boards. Been asked to install a new board by linking off the existing boards supply as the current board is full. They are lug and bolt terminals so can easily double the...
Hello there guys,
I am a bit confused regarding fitting consumer boards on wood. I am fitting one in a shop and I have been told I am not allowed to fit on the wood panels. But yet the suppliers have recently put all their meters and upgraded the supply to a three phase on the wooden panel...
Has anybody used a chint 3 ph board? For the size I need it comes in about £50 cheaper than a Hager. I've used the single phase ones years ago and they were gash!! This is the first job for a new customer so I don't want to be fitting rubbish and I'm a bit of a brand snob but if the chint is any...
Had demo @ local independent wholesalers other day

Finds hotspots etc will compare the old Dorman smiths to the new schnieder boards ;-)
Hi i have done many underfloor heating systems on ply lined floors but never on a concrete levelled base. The question i am asking is it ok to use polystyrene thermal boards with a mesh type mat i know they are ok with the foil mats but i am unsure with the mesh type. I dont want it to be a...

Hello, my first post!
I've lifted the floor boards in my Bungalow and found that there is a void between the rafters and a solid concorete floor. This area being ventilated by air bricks at both front and rear of the building.
Given the depth of the rafters drilling is not really an option ...
Hi,
Does anyone know where you can get small compact skeleton board (I need dual load 8 way max). I have seen Wylex do some but these are two tall for what I need as trying to replace old wylex board in ex council house and am limited by the existing housing unit.
Thanks
Could anyone give me a rough idea of when the MEMshield 2 range of boards were introduced? And also, if anyone had an idea of when the old Square D. boards came out. Firstly the ones with the black MCBs & RCBOs, and also when they were replaced by the 3871 QOE MCBs.
Google hasn't been much...
