We've got a consumer unit like this:
We can get it changed to a more modern one for around £350. I wondered who thinks it is worth it and what benefits a new one would bring if it is worth changing?

Looking at the regs it says we have a supply of 230 Volts and so we do our calculations based on this so that if we had to install lights on the end of a long cable we would use a cable with a larger CSA and hence more cost.

With all of the new courses availiable, to allow kitchen fitters (for example) to self certify thier own work. Along with the 6 week electrician DI coures.
It seems that an apprenticeship is no longer required for becoming an Electrician.
