GU10 50w halogen bulbs

Hi I'm new to the forum and only have a basic knowledge of electrics,I've looked on the forum and have seen a thread regarding the gu10 bulbs blowing and within the last month I've replaced 7 out of the 8 bulbs in two light fittings some are blowing within a week of being changed, it's costing...

radio interference with LED bulbs

Is anyone having problems with interference on FM & digital radios when installing high power LED bulbs. I have just premoted some 6 watt gu 10 high power LED's from the LED lighting company to a customer on the basis that they are the future only to discover that they loose reception on there...

testing live wires

Hi guys, I'm after advise on checking live wires. Do I need a circuit tester or can I use the Electricians screwdriver I have, and if so how does it work. Many thanks

Photocell suitable for CFL bulbs

Can anyone point me in the right direction regarding a suitable photocell for using with energy saving bulbs. Customer has some bulkheads in which they have bust the photocell because they've just stuck in CFL bulbs this week, so are wanting to replace the small photocells on the fitting

GU10 bulbs keep blowing after about a week - please help this is driving me mad!

Hi, I have a four lamp Halogen GU10 light fitting in my kitchen (not spots) and two in an adjacent sun lounge. They were fine when first installed a few years ago but in the last 12 months when we replace the bulbs they are lasting a week at the most. As you can imagine, with a total of 12 bulbs...

Dimmer buzzing

Hi all quick question I recently installed 8 downlights 50w lamps low voltage. The problem is i'm getting a slight buzz at the fusebox when the dimmer is dimmed (400w dimmer) the breaker is a 10a wylex breaker tnc-s any suggestions would be great.
