Hi all,
First post, so not sure how this will work out…
I’ve currently got a 3 phase AC servo motor (Lenze brand) at work that seems to be overloading 1 phase (U phase of motor)…
This motor is VFD driven by again a Lenze brand 9300.
The load for the motor is a coupling driven pressure roller...
Just reading through my Student's Guide and wondering about nominal amperage.
If guaranteed trip is 5x nominal amperage, what's to stop 2.5mm cable on a 20a radial circuit from running at 70a or something and completely destroying the cable/potentially your house?
Hi, I've had a burning smell in my apartment for two months now and 3 electricians who have come have not been able to diagnose the problem. My apartment is in the Bronx, NY. I bought it 1 and 1/2 years ago. I has a fuse box. Last summer, my first summer there, no issues. I ran my AC and...
Figure I'd ask here for advice. House was built in the 70s. Recently I was running the dishwasher and noticed the lights in the kitchen flicker and smelled a burning wire smell. So I stopped the dishwasher but the lights continued to flicker for a while. I've narrowed the flickering down to the...
Hi,
In the middle of today, we smelled something burning, the first reaction is electrical cable burned! We looked for where it smelled strongest and found it is upstairs hallway near radiator (which was not on at the time) and downstairs living room.
We called the electrician who did the...
I'm not an electrician, just a hobbyist trying to build a small sculpture which incorporates LEDs, but they keep burning out. I am using a 8w/24v Meanwell power supply, a single 20mA Dynaohm resistor, and 3 strings of four 5mm warm white LEDs each, in parallel (see attached diagram). They all...
Hi all Happy Christmas to you and yours.
I need some expert advice
I made the temporary leap to a off grid Mobile home a few months ago while I build my house.
All works ok, generator during the day and batteries and a 1 to 2 kw 220v inverter at night.
However, there is a slight problem, I...
Hi all!
I have a light fitting with 3 lights on it in a row. The middle one burnt out right away when I connected it.
Then I started another thread prior to this one which solved some wiring questions. It's now all connected ok. When I replaced the middle light after all of this was done and I...
I have a 4 socket extension block plugged in, in my bedroom. Just plugged genuine iPhone charger into it and instantly loud bang and the socket + charger burnt out. Although no damage at the wall socket. I assume this is just a problem with the extension and not the wall / main wiring? Just need...
Where I'm staying at the moment, the lady ordered a cozyspa. Anyway after a day of it being plugged in the plug melted and filled the house with smoke. You'll see from the pictures the damage caused.
Approx 15 minutes after it happening the company rang up and said not to plug it in and a new...
Hi what external waterproof socket will allow for the use of 2 SC3P euro 2 pin to uk 3 pin convertors? I've tried the flip up versions but they won't even fit in due to the tapering of the housing - let alone let the waterproof lid shut! (I tried LAP, 2G & MK)
I need to run LEDs ( 10w / 240v...
Evening, we have a machine (being deliberately vague) it has a main motor, which is driven by a VFD, on the spindle of the shaft driven by the motor is a rotary incremental encoder, something like 1000 pulse / revolution. This encoder controls a Servo Drive which drives a small motor for another...
Hi
I have 3 lights on my driveway but I can’t use them. The reason being is that I have CCTV pointing at my driveway and the light shining up as damaged the lens and caused image burn. This only shows when it switches tolow light setting in the night time.
The blubs installed are GU10s (220v...
Hi we are currently located in Nairobi, Kenya and have UK 240V.
We have a problem that the fuse in the main fuse box keeps burning. Each time we replace the fuse it lasts roughly a month. We have seen that the burning to the wire is on the inlet side of the fuse.
The house doesn’t have many...
