Hi Guys
This is my understanding about the use of capping,
1. Cable Capping is not designed to protect against nails, but to protect the cable from the plasterer's trowel on traditional plastered walls and particularly aggressive lime based plasters.
Neither the steel version nor the...
Does anyone know anywhere in the regulations that it states I have to use capping to protect cables when embedded in plaster as I am currently on a rewire, it says in on site guide that if there's no rcd protection it does require metal earthed capping
Looking for help.
I had a look at a friends flat, he said the walls in his flat were live when he put a Pen type voltage indictaor to the wall. This was after there had been a flood in the flat next door and his walls are soaked, literally. Sure enough the Pen stick did light up but I tested...
Is there any restriction with regard to technical or regultatory issues as to the number of cables which can be contained within 1" pvc or metal capping behind plasterboard. For example either:

b) Two 2.5mm
c) One 2.5mm and two 1.5mm (cables will be touching)

I'm running an 'armoured' cable from a fused spur in the main building to a garage 5mtrs away.
The cable emerges from the main building about 300mm above soil level and will be secured to the wall with saddle clips before going underground.
I've seen on other sites a capping which is secured to...
