I'm looking at an install of a double oven cooker ... 11.3kW maximum demand ... and rather than use 10mm T&E for the final connection I have been looking at the CCC tables in Appendix 4
Table 4E2A on page 368 (3rd Amend of 17th) states I should be able to use a cable with 6mm CSA conductors...
Morning
The company that I work for has recently had an electrical inspection carried out. One of the findings consisted of 'ineffective overcurrent protection of cable due to rating of protective device and CSA of cable'
Basically a 100A isolator was feeding a 16mm SWA. The SWA conforms to BS...
Current carrying capacity is a figure which is given to us by manufacturers, correct? Now, I've watched those videos of the guy trying to set fire to a piece of 1mm and it takes quite a bit more current to set a light. So for example, if you had a 9kw shower and a 9.5kw instantaneous unvented...
Hi All
I would like some opinions from fellow sparks,I work as a foreman electrician for a large Logistics company and I am part of the building maintenance team we have all trades in the team. Each depot has a what my Manager calls maintenance men ( I call them caretakers/Janitors), they carry...
Eh up :)
I'm trying to challenge myself with scenarios where I'm not sure if my interpretation of the calculation rules + regs is correct or not.
RFCs are doing my head in.
I think I understand most of the theory:
- 433.1.204 lists a specific case where a RFC protected by a 30/32A protective...
evening all working away with no regs etc anyone tell me cable size for 200a 3ph head feeding a 6way 3ph ryfield board singles direct from head to db approx. 1m long cheers
Hello, I was just looking for some help with the above subject with looking up the tables for the various protective device and finding the values of C connected with CCCC. I was looking for the rating factor for a BS88 fuse and I found at least 2 different tables the difference being that there...
Hi, looking through an EICR report and have a issue with the MDP.
We have
4x240 - on a 1440 breaker
3x240 - on a 1250 breaker
2x240 - on a 630 breaker
All cables are ducted within the ground. Am i right in thinking that there are breakers are over rated for the cable size. Just double...
EICR
tnc-s system ....lighting circuit ......cables buried less than 50mm ....not rcd protected....what code should i put
(i think code 2...
but could it be c3 (not compliant with current regs)
Why is it that the tables in the Regs for Cable current carrying capacities vary so much from that of a cable manufacturers data sheet, for example a table in the Regs book states a 240mm 4 core XLPE Armoured cable buried will carry 324 amps, but a data sheet for a leading manufacturer states...
can anyone help please,
I am testing a new installation for another contractor, lighting circuits are wired in 1.5mm pvc singles in 4inch metal trunking, protected by 16amp type c mcbs, is this overated considering correction factors applied? thanks
Coming across this more often, situation, 200a bs88 main switch, feeding busbar above. 3 dbs next to busbar, all single phase, supply to these is 16mm tails off busbar. Now my issue is 16mm tails cannot take 200a,so C2. But on the previous EICR they said that because the db was less than 3...
Any reason why 6x1.5 mm singles within 20mm plastic cinduit on surface shouldnt be used for a 3kw load. Length if run is about 6 metres. Fused a 13a via sf spur.
Thanks
Does the current carrying capacity of cables change on what voltage your using??
2.5mm can carry 27a at 230v
would this be the same for 1000v
could someone please explaain this whole process please
Confused lol
Grant
p.s i'm a student :)
Can anyone help me out with this? Need to find the max current carrying capacity for 4mm singles over a 10m length in both metal trunking/pipe with a 20A 60898 B Type breaker protecting cct. No thermal insulation at an ambient temp of 30•C.
If anyone can help with breakdown of calculations...
