Has anyone heard of the changes to Part P that are coming into force?
Work in areas such as Kitchens now now not require notification to building control. Wasn't work
Hi Guys,
Anyone seen the full implications of the Part P changes that come into force April? I have just been reading issue 14 of SPARK from the ECA where the details are on the front page.
The biggest shock was watering down Part P so that kitchen work becomes non-notifiable - what a joke...
I was reading Sparks last night and is it just me but is this ill thought through idea of the "mandatory" insurance just a bad idea?
I can just imagine the conversation with Mrs Jones:
Sparky - "of course this Part P includes your insurance"
Mrs Jones "what insurance?"
Sparky "in case of...

Hi all
I have my Elecsa assesment booked for 19th Dec and am now having serious doubts as to whether its worth joining a scheme at all.
Recent research led me to the government review of Part P released in April 2012. I'm not sure if it has been amended or scrapped since?
With the type of...

Well after a break of nearly 4 months from the forum last week i decided to join in again. Conclusion is not great im afraid as i still see most posts ending in Electrical Trainee or a new one 17 day wonder, still see newbies coming in and instantly getting shot down because they dared not use the right...
Hi

What's the going rate for a 10 way consumer unit change with upgraded tails these days? I seem to be getting ndercut left right and centre at the minute!
Was just reading the email sent over from REAL, in it they talk about the digressions etc but oddly they refer to a small system between 0-10kw
Is it 16p now for system between 0-10kw, feel lost now with all the changes.
The Government's consultation response also set out the cost reduction...
After finding out I can't do the Nvq 3 because I don't have 2 years experience in the industry, things aren't looking bright. Next year, I am moving out of the country, so won't have time to complete the 2357. I have completed level 2&3 2330, also wouldn't be able to afford the like £4000 plus...
