Hi there,
for a friend's boat, he has constant access to 240v shore power (and a galvanic isolator), but still wants batteries for whenever shore power stops working, or if he wants to go and cruise for a day or two. He needs a charger to keep the batteries topped up, and an inverter for...
Anyone fitted these new sockets with integral usb charger slots? I've found you have to disconnect a supply wire when doing IR test.. might seem obvious with hindsight but caught me out the first time :dunce2:
I have a mate with a towing caravan battery charger problem. Scenario is the original fixed charger failed while he was away and he replaced it with a new straight swap unit...(3 stage 18a max unit). The battery is a 110ah unit which takes a charge fine on a separate trickle charger.
The issue...
Evening all!
I want to make myself a charger unit for iPhone / iPad? I'm thinking a 22ah battery, charge level indicator, and usb sockets on the output?
Does anyone have any experience, advice, or recommendations, that they think may be of use please?
Thanks in advance!
I bought a 5V 2A mains plug from eBay to charge my tablet but I get the feeling it's actually only 500 mA or 1000 mA as my tablet charges slowly.
Is there a device I can buy to test USB mains plug amps?
Could the USB cable be the issue? Is there a device to test those?

Hi,
Apologies for the long story but here goes,
A friend has just sent me the attached image of a bike light charger that exploded and caught fire on the kitchen work top. The charger has a USB cable and it was plugged into their laptop and then into the light.
Now it's not a dodgy Chinese...
Hi everyone,
Looking for a bit of advice please. I am just returning to the industry after a significant absence so forgive my ignorance.
I have just been to quote for a disabled customer who has a battery operated bath lift.
The power pack is detachable for charging, but has become to heavy...
Greetings,
I have a 12v 36ah battery which is supposed to be a 36 hole golf trolley battery. The charger is specifically designed for Powakaddy (or Hillbilly) carts. The battery only pulls for 16 holes so I complained to the supplier who said, "sorry, it's out of warrantee". Which it is; by four...
