i used to use a circular saw but its just died and was thinking of one of these instead
does it have any other uses
in other words is it worth it

I have come to the stage where lifting floorboards by hand saw and bolster is hard work , i have used large circular saws but found them to clumsy are small plung circular saws any good for cutting tongue and groove floor boards for lifting ???
Been working in a big old house, where I needed to lift multiple floorboards for access. Pipes, cables were often touching the underside of the floorboards, so needed to cut with care. Using the Bosch POF cutter to cut between them but it's hard going and the blades are rubbish so not lasting...
Evening all. Title says it all really. In need of a decent circular saw. Preferably battery operated. Basically fed up of getting boards up using hammer and chisel method. Also, I do a bit of joinery work too so it serves as a dual purpose.

I was wondering if i could get some tips from you all for cutting up tongue and groove chipboard flooring,Because today when the joiner took up a section off the floor there was pipes very very close to the tops of the joists and right underneath the flooring..

I just wanted to know what people prefer? Corded or cordless and which brand is best. I use a corded wherever possible because I have found when having to use a cordless, the batteries just don't last that long. I like Makita but will be replacing it shortly as it is getting old and a bit fooked.
I have a new toilet block in a school which has 10 stalls, each to have its own sensor and circular compact fitting, it has been left to me to design the lighting, has anyone had any troubles switching these by PIR sensors?

Just picked up a new one but it's not supplied with a carry case (couldn't find too many that were annoyingly).
What does everyone else keep theirs in? The cardboard box? Or does someone make a generic case for them?
Hi guys after struggling with my 14.4v panasonic today whilst cutting about 30 boards on a new job, I have decided to either buy a bigger cordless 18v-28v or a corded one.

Does anyone know where I can buy 18v batteries for my Worx 18v circular saw? I know they aren't the best of makes but I only use it for cutting floorboards and it is ok for that, trouble is, the batteries are about defunct now...
I am looking at buying a new cordless Circular saw, mainly for lifting floorboards and am looking at the Panasonic Li-Ion 14.4v one which also does metal (which could be good for containment) however I am not sure if this would be powerful enough for wood.
My second option is to buy a Hilti 36v...
What do you use to cut up floorboards? Jigsaw/ circular saw or any other. I use a jigsaw but it is on its last legs and I have been usuing a reciprocating saw lately which is only going to lead to trouble when my luck runs out.
