All I am hearing of late is that the 2391 is going to be scrapped and made easier and the 2330 is being scrapped and being renamed something else. Does anyone know if something similar is going to happen with the Design and Verification course? Is there anywhere is South Wales still doing it...

Hello all,
I am now in possession of a circular from C&G detailing the changes to the short courses.
BS7671:2008 (2011) and City and Guilds qualifications.
Here goes.
How will the wiring regulation changes affect the 2391 inspection, testing and certification of electrical qualification...
I did my part 1 and 2 city and guilds in the 80s and also did the course c, then in recent years the 17th course and then even more recent the 2391.

Not sure what the equivalent pt 1,2 course c equivalents are and whats the NVQ 3 ?
Can anyone enlighten me?
Evening All,
I have City and Guilds 236 Parts 1 and 2 and have recently completed my 17th Edition and also have my City and Guilds 2391 Inspection and Testing.
My question is: does the industry still recognise my City and Guilds 236 Parts 1 and 2?
Thanks
Tony

I have bought some books but I would definitely rather have DVDs, CDs, anything that you can watch because reading books is so boring that every 10-15 minutes I completely loose concentration which leads to giving up.
I know the basics- Ohms law, Power, Joules, C.S.A and Length.
But I am not so clear on Lenz's law, Faradays law and some others which I can't even remember.
Sorry if I come across a bit thick, This is my first year of electrics.
