What do you guys tend to use Type B MCB for lighting circuits but know that some use Type C even when the loadings are low.
What do others prefer and why?
Hi guys, be kind, I used to be in the trainee section and need some advice regarding emergency lighting and common points / modes of failure which is a relatively new area for me. Two situations.
I have some work in a commercial setting, and have recently noticed that one of the non-maintained...
Hi all, new here and after some advice on a twin dimmer switch purchased from a large warehouse type diy store.
It is marked as a two gang two way dimmer, so I was expecting to find six terminals; one common and two switched live on each of the two sides.
Yet there is only one common.
Now...
What is the deal with temporarily moving an array to complete building works? No doubt it will be a complete nightmare but hopefully some good experience here?
Do they notify or keep quiet?
Ok I know this is dragged up time and time again regarding the 3a fuse on a fan debate but i had an interesting one today.

I have just finished a handover at work and the doctor came up to me to have a chat about his electrics! He is a good doctor and very intelligent.
During the weekend, just before a party he was throwing, the 'sockets' MCB trips. He starts panicking as all his guests will be turning up. He...

Help with calculation please.
If separate cable measure : 10Ω, 5Ω, 5Ω, 4Ω and 2Ω what would it be in parallel?
I get this so far
1 1 1 1 1 1 = What happens next?
10 + 5 + 5 + 5 + 4 + 2
Is there a correct way to wire a two way light switch, I have one where the two sets of cables are wired Red - Common
L1 Black (switched live and Yellow. L2 Red and Blue, another is Red Common, L1 Red and Yellow, L2 Black switched live and Blue.
Theoretically speaking If I have a 3 phase 4 wire supply L1 L2 L3 and N
And the 3 hot phases are 120 degrees offset, bar any faults and line harmonics etc, the max load on the common (shared) N, would be that of the heaviest load on a single phase right , EG
L1 draws 63a L2 draws 69a and L3...
