I thought I saw someone post a link in a thread recently to someone who had set up a portal monitoring almost everything in their house (from generation to electricity consumption, phone calls etc.). I'm pretty sure it was on this forum, however I can't find it.
Could anyone help?
thanks
Matthew
i am not sure if anybody will be able to help me or not, i currently have very high electricity bills, i burn between 30-48 units a day, i do not have any boilers or heaters, my heating and hot water comes from a communion boiler so therefor these are included in with my weekly rent, i have...
What is the background night time power consumption in your house when you are asleep?
A/ Less than 100 watts?
B/ 100-200 Watts?
C/ 200-300 Watts?

E/ 400-500 Watts?
F/ Greater than 500 Watts?
i've seen an electric fire advertised very cheaply in a local newspaper (dimplex SP920) and I need one for my living room as the gas fire has not been serviced and 5 years and I'd rather switch to electric as they don't need serviced, one thing that caught my eye is on the tech spec i found...
Hi
Quick question about a system a user wants who has 3-phase electricity. If we install a 4kWp system onto one phase, when it is generating more power than is being used by that phase, will the other phases consume that power, thus slowing/stopping the meter, or is it lost back to the grid...
What is a good inexpensive accurate monitoring device to measure imported Household Electricity consumption, whilst using a PV system?
CT clamps don't indicate directionality of flow.
If a solar system exports energy, no current is being imported into the house, yet a CT clamp will measure the...
hi all
silly question but i have to ask as knowlage is a better understanding
i have a 400watt pc power supply powering leds as it is a 400watt is it consuming 400 watts?
it only needs 0.5 amps at 12 volt so if it is more cost efective to use a smaller power supply
thanks
Hi all,
Just signed up to this forum in the hope someone could help me out with a project I have going on. I have been searching the net trying to find the energy consumption data for typical industrial facility that is used for a large online retailer such as Amazon with no luck at all. Now I...
I'm playing around with max demand and diversity figures and thought I'd try and get better/more factual figures. Most appliance manufacturers tend to quote in KWh which doesn't make much sense for instantaneous power calcs and for A rated appliances the actual power seems to be very low with my...
Hi all,
I am not an electrician, but I am someone who needs some help from someone that can..

I guess if I knew the resistance of the Primary coil I could calculate it ? but wondered if anyone had a reference guide to current consumption when a 110V tool is not in use ?

I have a theriotical and practical problem.
My lap top is 18V. I amusing 10V 4000mAH battery.
how long I can use my lap top if battery is fully charged.
how to calculate how much current drain from battery. how much current drain if I used 18 V , 4000mah battery
thank you
Hi,

Thanks & regards
Hi guys,
Just an ordinary street light, 400w HPS bulb.
What will be total consumption?
Lamp 400w
Electrical disribution(rectifier) 100w
Comprehensive Cable Loss 6%, 400x6%= 24w
Transformer loss 3%, 400x3%=12w
Reactive Power Compensation, power factor 0.85
Total: (400+100+24+12)/0.85 = 630W...
Anyone with any IT knowledge know of any commercial grade meter for monitoring units consumed that is designed for use in a hosting server rack, ideally with IP access?
Thanks!
Also - message for Shakey, I tried to thank you on the other post but it wouldnt add it to the thread for some...
