Hi all,
Could some one explain the correct way in connecting a 3phase contactor with overload protection.
I have the supply going into l1, l2, l3 and motor connected to the load terminals, t1, t2, t3. I also have the 230v connected to the a1 coil and neutral on a2. Just a bit confused...
My apologies all, my post was of coarse missing some stuff, and rather confusing.
1. Are there any obvious rules preventing the use of ring circuits coming from a contactor like the one pictured below, it doesn't s seem there is.
2 Provided there are no restrictions preventing the use of a...
Iv been thinking about a way to keep the lights on during a power cut and have come up with the following idea, it will be mainly used in domestic properties, iv included an automatic change-over, im picking up a ups today and am going to trial it at home, just wondering if anyone has any...
I have to put 25 led down lights in a garage , customer wants them all on one switch line which will be 100 metres long. I'm going to use 1mm. Should I break them down into two lots of 14 ?
Just out of interest what current does an AC Contactor coil take? I keep using 300va transformers in my panel builds but never take coil currents into account mainly only have up to 8 contactors. Cheers
I am in the middle of a debate as to how to connect this contactor in the attached picture.
The live feeds are going from the breakers to number 2 in each contactor (1L1 to number 2 in the first contactor, 1L2 to number 2 in the second contactor etc) and there is a neutral from the neutral bar...
I've been testing some flats that have immersion heaters, 2 supplies - daytime and off peak. The off peak supply is wired from the meter through a contactor then back into the mcb, with the outgoing supply to the immersion heater coming from the contactor. However, when the mcb is isolated, the...
Hi All
I am going to be installing some high bay lighting which will consist of 3 x 400w metalhalide fittings so 1200w in total with runs of approx 60 meters in 2.5mm cable. I will be wiring the circuit via a 20amp contactor with a control circuit of a two way switch system to activate or...
Hi guys
Ive just done a EICR at a doctors surgery. Theres a single phase rewireable fuse board for the main circuits (lights, rings etc) and a separate 3 phase board for the electric convector heater radials. This 3Ph board is supplied from another enclosure with a contactor in it (see pic)...
Has anyone fitted one of these before? I have a Motorun 8hp Static Convertor that I have been asked to wire in. The cabling is all there it's just the connection I was a little grey on after chatting with the guy. He said the for 400v option to use Black & Brown Phases only and the Grey to...
Morning all
I've been asked to replace 2no controller units for roller shutter doors. At the moment the customer has a digital unit and they don't really want the expense of replacing like for like.
Can anyone recommend a good simple unit for up and down of a 3-phase motor. (Could go for...
I'm probably going to get shot for this question, but when wiring a contactor/ overload does it matter wich side the supply is connected? I.E into the overload first or into the contactor and out through the overload?
Afternoon all,
I've started a job last week in a cricket club and been asked to take over from another sparks who did the first fix. He has since disappeared and no one can contact him, which has proved most unhelpful, namely in figuring out what he had done and ensuring that there are enough...
Hi all. Installed a 40A CPN contactor in a board for ufh, not my favourite make, but the only 16 way the wholesalers had at the time. The problem ive got is that the contactor is buzzing/screaming. All conections are tight and its the same on the replacement CPN contactor. Ive had no problems...
Here's the scenario:
Big house with detached granny annexe. Three-phase supply. Single phase supply by buried SWA to annexe for power and light. Separate three-phase supply by buried SWA for the annexe night storage.
The clock for the NSH is in the main house. The 3ph goes to a fused switch...
I need a solution for a problem I have, just cant seem to think at the moment.
I need to shut off a 3 phase supply when a supply to one phase has failed? Now I am thinking 4 pole contactor, but I am not sure of how to monitor the 3 individual phases on 1 control circuit? 3 control circuits perhaps?
Hi, im installing a timeclock with contactor for a lighting circiut in house.
Do i need a seperate feed from a seperate breaker for the contactor in addition to the lights feed on B6 breaker, or am i able to loop the two (from the coil side, to the incoming side of the contactor) protected from...
Hello
I plan to use a din rail contactor to switch off a whole lighting circuit which is currently on a 6a mcb. (want a remote switch to control whole circuit)
Can anyone explain to me exactly what way I could wire this.. haven't used contactors before..
I guess you take the power to the...
Righto just a quick question.. I've been informed that a safety relay must be used for your estop circuit, but why can't you just use ladder logic to create your estop circuit? Does every one use a safety relay or does anyone use only a Plc logic for your safety circuit?
Thanks,
Dale..
