Good day,
Just a quick one, on testing a ring main continuity test. After following the following sequence on a existing circuit.
he problem have is on my Cpc - Cpc. The reading I am getting s open circuit. But when test L1-Cpc2 and L2 - Cpc1 he reading am getting is inconstant. Would...
After going to church this morning I had a EICR to do for a friend where someone had been growing some illegal substances and the police or DNO had removed the meter for evidence. So only dead test can be carried out and it needed a EICR before a new meter is fitted. The RFC is protected by a...
I was on a fairly big new build commercial job recently, nowt too big electrically, but lots of SWA on tray all around the place by the main electrical contractor.
So anyway, I noticed a couple of things they'd been doing that didn't seem right to me, but not really my place to query it at the...
hi ladies and gents
I have opened a ring final circuit to add 3 sockets. All was goin well till I powered it up and it keeps tripping. I have tested and IR comes back fine. continuity also fine, all test readings are fine. the circuit has 9 sockets and has a 32 type c rcbo. any other info...
Evening all,
get called to a three storey block of flats which has had water ingress into the ryefield board, basically there is three massive tanks above the riser where the ryefield boards are and one of the pumps on the tank decided to let go. The first floor has no flats, (it used to be an...
Hi all, sent my 1552 back to megger to be repaired. It's giving inconsistent continuity readings. Megger wanted £385 just to look at it! Robbin *******s! Do I asked for the meter to be returned.
can anybody recomment a meter repair company?
thanks.
Has anyone experienced issues with continuity readings fluctuating on a Megger 1730 MFT when the test leads rotate/move in the instrument as is the unavoidable condition when actually using the tester?
I can null the leads but thereafter the reading with the leads connected to each other can...
Hiya Guys,
I hope there is someone out there who can answer my problem. I'll do my best to explain my situation.
Right then - I have been given the task by my employer to test/inspect some Distribution boxes.
(Here is a link from a random web site I found showing the boxes - Electrical...
My fluke T140 past away this week and now looking for a new tester.I was very satisfied with the T140, very practical and fast.
My dealer have only the new T150 at 190euros.On ebay is aprox 160.
Before ordering a new one was thinking to ask here and see what you are using ? If there is any other...
I'm doing an continuity test on a lighting circuit and I'm getting funny readings I'm putting on test lead on earth and one on switch live then I'm getting a reading of around 1.4 ohms but then when I'm checking the polarity it's shooting up to around 93 ohms but not breaking the circuit as you...
Hey,
I've just past my trade test and was placed on a new build to complete the 2nd fix
as the guy who roughed it has left.
Anyway, he's wired the lights using the loop method at the switches, I've never did this
previously as I would always do the joint at the ceiling rose, this has thrown me...
Hi guys, I have recently bought a Fluke 1652C and I am trying to work out how to carry out testing (course coming up soon) however I am a bit stuck with a continuity test I wanted to do on a ring circuit and would appreciate some help !
I was lucky enough to have an empty flat so carried out...
Iv just complete an eicr. I have a few queries.
1. Page 2.part k.I'm unable to get hold of the details for the Characterisitics of primary supply over current protection devices- can I put lim in these boxes.
2.page 2. Part L. Main protective bonding. There's no bonding as the mains water...
6mm singles from 100a TP 60947-2 in a main panel to an adcent enclosure to a 16a 60898-D Tp, then 6mm leaving this to air con units. Would you code 2 the 6mm singles from the 100a 60947-2? As exceeds current carrying capacity?. Or because the 6mm singles are less than 3 metres to the enclosure...
Hi
There seems to be some confusion at work about ring circuit continuity on an EICR. I was under the understanding that you took r1 & r2 added together and divided by 4, then during the live testing a Max Zs was measured using meter. The method two or 'figure of eight' is used only on Initial...
As you know it all happens at once, lost voltage tester, volt pen ain't working and all I've left is neon driver:hammer:
So question is any Of you seen any good deals recently. I was thinking fluke t5 or any you suggest
Does anyone else have problems with there continuity readings my readings never seem to be stable for example a newly installed ring end to end resistance on neutral and line ill get .46 and then a reading of .04 on line end to end the leads are always nulled and I even check readings on calcard...
Hi peeps
I have continuity measurements on a ring final circuit of: L/L 1.4, N/N 0.78, E/E 1.7
Loose connections somewhere?
There is a new CU with RCD.
Insulation resistance measurements are good.
There is a boiler added into the circuit as a spur.
Any suggestions or comments?
THANKS!!
:) :) :)
Hi
Running a quick test on a lighting circuit today, was doing R1 + R2 on downstair lights. Everything seemed OK, but upon trying to prove polarity by using switches obviously upon switching off the circuit goes open but when tried switching on again and testing again I got a wildly...
Hello all,
I have just done a pre-works visit for a CU change and found continuity between neutral and earth!!
This is a TT so I didn't think I needed to disconnect the main earth but after getting continuity between N-E I did, I also disconnected main bonding but still getting N-E continuity...
