Hi there ?,
Apols in advance if this has been done to death?!!! (I know it has but I can't seem to fathom out a similar set-up having searched through this forum and others).

Hello -
I bought a corded hedge trimmer today and started using it. In about 5 minutes I had managed to chop through the cable! Rookie error. Here are the cut cable ends (I am in the UK btw)
So I need to repair the cable. Having googled around, I could solder the wires together, but I don't...
Hi
Wonder if anyone could be kind enough to give me some advice. I have bought a BG Lampholder from Screwfix. I was looking specifically for one that had a cord grip. The one I have is advertised as a integral cord grip but I was expecting the cord to be hand tightened in some way. I just can't...
Hello,
I have unscrewed the pull down cord unit of a bathroom fan. This was to fit a new cord as the other one need replacing.
I’m now unable to pull the cord to turn off the fan. I have a small coil which needs putting into the unit but I do not know where. Any help would be really appreciated!
As above... replaced switch as neutral had cooked due to poor connection. replaced for MK 50A, out of the packet really dissapointed only one earth terminal and terminal screws for that and l & N connections quite small and weak looking. Connected it and ensured that terminals were nice and...

Hi all,
It just popped into my head about bathroom pull cord switches, do they ever have flush mounting boxes, every one I have seen has been surface mounted, and also, why are shower pull cords cut shorter, which I see in most places?
Hi guys, been asked to give a quote on testing pull cord facilities in retirement homes but have no idea what the Base rate roughly is for doing this?

I have a pull cord ceiling switch with a neon light. Everything is fine but when the neon Light Is off, the fan works. When the neon light is on, it doesn't. I will attach a picture but the only difference is a link from one end of the nylon core to the fan live.
thanks.
Hi,
Where can I purchase retro, twirling electricity cable like in the following pic:
I'm looking for the plastic type, rather than the cloth version. Cheers!
Hi, first time poster here.
I've had a relatives iron come my way that is in need of a replacement mains cord but I'm a little confused as to what gauge the replacement flex should be.
It's stated on the bottom of the iron that it draws 2kW max, which just over 8.5 amps at 230V. According to...
Hi,
Not new to forums, but definitely new here!
I've searched the regs, and guide, long and hard and can't find anything about where a 45A pull cord can and can't be located. The shower in question will be in a DDA toilet with a wet floor, no basin.
I feel that the means of isolation should...

My friend broke my bathroom pull cord switch and whilst fixing it, some of the wiring came out. I can't remember which way they go in.
I have a yellow wire, 2 reds and a pinkish red wire. I have a black box into which the wires fit labelled L1, L2 and comm.
I'd be very grateful for any...

any recomendations?
Found a shower pull cord switch within zone 1 of a shower. Can't tell the manufacturers details so can't ask them. So does anyone know what the general rating for these switches are? (Thought I saw something posted on here once, possibly by Spin?).
Either way not a great installation and it was...
