I have an issue with coding 'incorrect RCD type selected'.
1, is it now expected that all permanently connected equipment is assessed and MIs consulted to determine if the correct type...
Hello,
I've recently had an EICR done on my 2 bed house which is a residential let. This house is about 25 years old built by Charles Church.

I have 3 circuits (microwave, disposal, and dishwasher) entering a metal box where the THHN wire will be spliced to Romex.
I spent half an hour reading 2020 NEC Article 250 but didn't see multiple circuits specifically addressed.
To ground the box do I just need to pigtail off of one circuit's...
DIY homeowner here. I need advice, but will hire a pro if major rewiring needs to be done.
I purchased a home with a 200amp service. There is a detached garage about 15’ from the house. I dont think the subpanel in the garage was wired correctly.
There are currently three 4awg aluminum branch...
the driver on my saxby decking lights has failed. It's not repairable so I need a replacement.
The Vega one (picture below) is specifically for these lights and is £22 + delivery. I think that is too much and so I found a 12v 1.25A transformer at home. Cut the connector of the one and mashed up...
Hi...a bathroom company has fitted an electric shower 9.8kw, we have just found out our cable is 6mm. They had a plumber and a chap who was not a qualified electrician do the first fix of fitting the shower and also putting in down lights in the ceiling and they got an electrician to 2nd fix. We...
(DIY) Hi, I suspect that I'm not getting the correct 230v in my premises. How likely is it that voltage supply could be less than 230v? What equipment would I need to test it?
Hi. First post here.
Background
I have a relative who is an electrician and is about to re-wire our home as a favour. I said that I will order and pay for all of the parts - so that they are here in on-site when he arrives to begin work.
I have already ordered a Hager consumer unit; the 10...
Hello everybody.
I bought a used keyboard (Yamaha PSR-E303), however it came with an aftermarket AC dapter, not the original one.
Its this one:
The keyboard does not specify AC adapter specs, but it says this above the plug:
However they do specify to use ONLY one of these...
I’m having my house extended and they have run a grey 2 core cable with black and red wires coming out of it ( but no apparent earth) to all the downlights and I think the same or similar to the sockets and light switches. Is this correct wiring? I read something about red and black being old...
I have a two 32mcb in the c/u. I thought one would be for the upstairs sockets and one would be for the downstairs sockets but they are not.

Hi all & thanks in advance for any feedback.
Could anyone tell me the correct Lock off device used to safely isolate a 4 pole main switch?
I'm not 100% sure if the isolation device with the prongs is the correct device to be used or if another lock off device is necessary.
Pics attached...
Morning Everyone,
Wonder if anyone can help advise.
I am soldering multiple out rated IP67 led strips. They will be going outside.
When I cut them, I need to seal them .
I believe I need a non conductive silicone sealent (clear). And also a sealent which won't damage or corrode the PCB...

I've just bought a bunch of led drivers (12VDC), but they're giving out between 24-32VDC. I'm assuming their faulty. However, testing my old halogen drivers (12VAC), the voltage their outputting on a dimmer (fully on) is only 7VAC. My multimeter seems fine - just getting a bit confused as...
