Scenario:
3 phase DNO with 100A fuses into a control unit feeding 2x 5kVA txs with combined load of 40A.
We're adding 2 more 5kVA txs, one with 14A, the other 21A.
What I've come up with so far:
63A fuse consumer side will need replacing with an 80A BS 88-2 (gG) fuse (max Zs 0.57Ω)...

I need to put an extractor fan in a small downstairs toilet with no window. I know it has to be fused to 3amps and I know it has to have a run over facility, and that it must be linked to the light switch/switch to conform to building regs. It will be a staff toilet and I am aware that people...

Hi,
I want to wire up a 12V DC timer (CN101A) to turn an appliance on and off. I have the found on the internet the following wiring diagram for the timer and not being too experienced I was wondering whether it will work if I make the connections as shown:
The timer does not show + or - so I...
We seem to be getting conflicting answers on whether the recommendations in Part M relating to installing sockets and switches at 450mm to 1200mm respectively also apply to existing dwellings undergoing a full refurbishment (and rewire). Can anyone put the record straight?

Hello all..
I figure its better to ask and be ridiculed than not!
I am about to add a couple of spurs to a ring that is not RCD protected. The neighbour definitely wants them channeled in rather than surface trunking so I have to RCD protect. It is an old Tenby CU with crabtree SB6000 MCB's. I...
