Been looking into structural survey etc, and kind of opened up a whole tin of worms, under building control! Obviously we can self certify for electrical using the PART P side which then gets sent to Building Control .
But will this cover PART A?? we are having structural surveys but...

Done a pir found all spots in lounge and dining room are not enclosed can type and have no fire hood etc, they are covered by thermal insulation its a flat roof with no access.
Do ppl put a code down for this on pir?
I would have said maybe code 2, tried niceic but cant get through so given up...
Got to upgrade CU soon, old wylex rewirables.
Garage also has a liitle 2 way wylex rewirable in there, is there any reason why I would have to change this as well ?

Just done a PIR and found the lights wired in old fabric covered cables. They passed the IR test but I have still marked them as a code 2 and told the home owner to replace them since the fabric disintegrates when moved and no double the insulation does the same. Was very tempted to mark it down...
