Noisy Dimmers

I just changed 2 old dimmers in my mates house for new MK ones.. One was alot noisier than the other, but even the quiet one was giving off quite a buzz.. not too bad once put back in the wall though. I haven't done many of these before, but do they all buzz like that? If so, what are...

i bought a 1000 watt dimmer for an installation and when i came to test i was getting a rediculously high r1+r2 (about 8ohms). after checking all connections i changed the dimmer for a normal switch test readng was fine 0.3ohms. does anyone else have probs like this with dimmers. before any one...

Fused GU10

OK, so I read up about using fused GU10s with dimmers to avoid the dimmer being taken out when the lamp dies. Indeed there are some suppliers that state that particular GU10s are "dimmable" which I assume means they have the fuse in them. But how do I know by looking at the lamp? I have...

Dimmer trouble

Hi I'm new to this forum stuff so be gentle. Can anyone tell me why when I put two dimmer switches on either end of a two way lighting circuit the lamps just flicker instead of illuminating as normal?
