The problem is that when the guy now turns on the strip light in the kitchen, the downlights seem to be going off for a few...

Hi, I'm hoping to get an informed answer as I can't get a straight one from my college with teachers coming and going including the one who enrolled me(unfortunately it's the one i'm stuck with) so here goes. I set out to be an electrician and I have a 2330 level 2 and cscs card and was going...
Long story short, I did a CertHE in Software Engineering a few years ago. Since then I've completed an electrical based "advanced apprenticeship" which left me with a bundle of vocational qualifications.
What I'm asking is do I have enough to amount to a HNC in Electronic & Electrical...

I have recently bought a reel of SMD LED strip lighting. I know it's suggested that you use an LED driver to power these but they seem very expensive. I was wandering if I could use a standard electronic transformer used for powering LV spotlights, as long as I meet the minimum load?
I struggle...
had a look round a friends where there's x8 12v down-lights witch all have individual 20-60va dimmable electronic transformers,
these lights are switched by a 400w GET dimmer switch which buzz's quite loudly when they are dimmed but works fine if the switch is fully on
you can also hear some...
Firstly I am glad to say I am back in work as an engineer WOOO!!!!!!
Kinda happy about that.
Am needing some new ear defenders, and someone must have come across a pair.
One of the factories I work in is noisy, not hugely, but enough that ear defenders are a good idea if in there for more...

Hello.
I'm no electrician (well, previously an auto-electrician but no expert on domestic electrics) and do have an electrician lined up to look into this problem next Week but would like to present the problem here for the sake of interest and for gaining some knowledge as to possible causes...
Greetings.
Just a quick question.
Does anyone know if this course can be completed in evenings alone or is it only day release?
I have read a little bit about the HNC and it seems you have to do one day a week.
But I can't find any information about evenings only.
Comments appreciated.
Thanks.
