Hi Guys, I apologise in advance as I have done this a**se about face, I have just finished putting power to my shed ( I am currently training to become a sparks got my 17th edition at pass in Watford shortly) and hoping to use my shed as my part p inspection as hoping to join ELECSA. Anyhow I...
Hello Sparks, I'm quite new to all of this having quite recently gotten my certificates in the post. Today I started down the road of having my NAPIT inspection and I've come up with a concern whilst designing the circuits for installation... I'm installing a 10.2kw oven and a 9.5kw shower...
Hi does someone know where to find the grouping factor Cg for cables enclosed in trunking and conduit please also where to find reff method for cbles paced directly into a plastered wall many thanks
Doing a quote for some tray and basket. Cant seem to find in the OSG or the green regs the suggested space factor to allow for future proofing. From back of mind I have 40%. Anyone have the knowledge ?
Hi could sombody please help, im currently coving cable calculations and volt drop. I understand the process and how to determine csa but could sombody please help me out as to where there is a table in bs 7671 ci to size of insulation. I found this table on line and just wondering if theres...
Hey everyone, just wondering what everyone thinks the best LED GU10 bulb is. Factors include: lux, spread, cost, lifespan, colour and size. Also which make of bulb is most equivalent to the 50watt halogen bulb including all the above factors.
Hi All,
I have been searching the forum but can't find this anywhere. Can you please see if my interpretation of this is correct:
50x50 trunking, 2m run with 1 90o bend.
4 x 50mm conductors,
1 x 35mm conductor.
As there are no factors for over 25mm2 I have to work it out manually
50x50 =...
Hi,
Whilst it is not best practise, is there any harm in a 10mm G&Y cable running along the outside of a building. The cable is currently tied to existing conduit, (there is no space in the conduit to run additional cable) and is unlikely to encounter any impact in its location. So the only...
Could someone explain what is involved when you have numerous correction factors
I have - ambient temp = 0.79 Thermal insulation = 0.88 grouping = 0.52 and a design current of 14.8A
Thanks
Hi All
A question I've asked many a lecturer and none of them have come up with the same answer.
When looking at the current carrying capacities for SWA cables, from about 35mm onwards you get an r, x, z value. What are these and which one do you use when carrying out voltage drop...
Good afternoon Gentlemen.I'm in the process of rewiring my garage so that I can join one of those fantastic schemes for my Part P.Question is this. looking at the OSG about conduit factors (Table 5D), it says about bends. Is this just bends in the actual conduit or does this include such things...
Hi
Wonder if you can help think it's me being a bit dim but can't help that.
Normally I compare the calculated VOC against the measured VOC however on the Panels I normally used on the Spec sheet it has a Module Temperature coefficient which is normally -85mV/deg.
Now we have started using...
hi,
when i installed the cables for a ring in my own house i clippped the cables in the channeled wall leaving a cable width between (no correction factors). if you run the cable in pvc conduit which seems about 100 times quicker surely correction factors for grouping need to be used (0.8)...
Something I've wondered about for a while...
If you had both legs of a RFC, in say T&E or singles, running in the same conduit, so basically touching, would you need to apply the appropriate correction factor for grouping?
Does anyone know which table I should be looking in to calculate the current carrying capacity of 4mm PV cable and also how to do the derating calc for the Non conformities in my MCS inspection?
I installed a 6 panel Mitsubushi system with the +ve and -ve legs of the string measuring 15m each...
What factors would favour repair rather the replacement of a motor in a machine tool?
· Loss of production
· The cost, generally cheaper to repair larger motors then replace
I need some guidance on circuits in trunking, assuming ive got 12 single phase circuits in singles 75% loaded in metal trunking say 100x100
My question is as the conductors lie in the bottom of of the trunking I will need to make allowances for grouping, is ther anything on the market where...
Has any body got a simple sheet or site in which it explains ( in simple terms) on how to calculate power factors, pf angles, relationship between trianlges (impedance/power/ voltage) etc ....?
I am trying to get my head round the year 2 math, most is fine, just cant seem to understand this...
