    Fire rated downlights

    How do you run the cable, and wire downlights, because the ones I was looking at say's they need a tranformer for each one, so if I was fitting about 16 that seems like a lot of transformers, Im confused can anyone put me straight?

    All I ever fit these days is fire rated recessed gu10 down lights.... so cheap now... But a customer has gone and brought a load of non-fire rated, am I right in thinking that fire rated are only required when fitted below a habital area ? Thank u, Sy

    Ten fire rated d/ls for 49.99 in Screwfix

    As above, ten brushed chrome GU10 downlghts for fifty quid, with lamps. Can't be bad - I don't really like Screwfix but may have a go on these.

    hi all have been ask to install some down lights in a loft conversion but didnt no if these would have to be fire rated because of the king span or if it would be ok to leave a gap round the light it only the building inspecter is a bit of a pain

    If installing fire rated Down lights are fire hoods still required to protect against the thermal effects from the transformer? If so, do they make them with transformers already protected against the heat emission as the fitting itself? Any help in this area would be appreciated. :confused...
