527.2.1.
A flat with a multitude of downlights. I am not convinced that the G5.3 fittings are firerated and they are mounted through a double boarded ceiling which is a fire barrier (confirmed with the original architects). The fittings are made from a pressed metal which is very thin and...
I am selling these ones off cheap at the moment, they are Philips branded and retail at 40 quid each, selling them off 10.75 each which is a bargain.
I have a few boxes left and the price includes the t5 lamp and hard wiring adapter

Hello all..
Just brushing up on my knowledge of LED's and getting to grips with Lumens/lux, SMD, angle etc etc etc....
What is your experience of LED MR16's? In particular I wanted to know if it was worth fitting them? One of the main reasons for buying an LED is the length of time it is going...
Hey up,
I've got to fit 2 2x58W fluorescent fittings surface mount no access from above but the fittings have besa mounts on rear. Cable will be in plastic conduit.
Will the besa boxes support the fitting weight?
Do you put 4 boxes on the ceiling then hold the fitting on these using the lids...
I want to add a second fluorescent fitting in my garage. The wiring I require is not an issue but the routing between the two fittings is. The reason is that the integral garage has a plastered ceiling as there is a bedroom above. Although the fittings will be only about 1.5m apart, there are...
The fittings operate from a time clock, some work some don't. Am I correct in thinking that these fittings don't have a starter nor a ballast? Does the time clock provide ballast in the circuit?
Does anyone have any experience with these sorts of fittings?
There is 240v going into the fittings...
Hi guys,
Doing a job at the moment which is basically turning an old office building into 5 Apartments.. In the communal area we are obviously going to need to install some lighting and emergency lighting. We were toying with the idea of Time lag switching or motion sensors in the ceiling, but...
they are the moden HF type with electronic ballast, they have hooks to be used for hanging on a chain but you can fix to the ceilings if needed too.
May require bit of dusting but otherwise in good working condition.
I have 14 of them complete - £20 each
and 4 of them missing plastic bits on...
Im looking for an LED tube light, complete fitting, 5Ft.
Has anyone used any they can recommend? And rough price?
I have seen the JCC one, looks quite good at £70 roughly is pricey, i need to change about 50 fittings for these in a storage warehouse.
Alreet chaps.
Quoting for a rewire....again! It is to be a rental property and the client has asked for pretty basic stuff, left the majority of the decisions up to me bar 2 locations where they have specified spot lights.
They have just said they want cheap standard light fittings in every...
I am quoting a sports club to replace 8 x 400W metal halide fittings for LED.
Are there any recommendations of who to use? I have my wholesaler pricing up some options but need to get a few different ideas of what LED wattage to use and cost.
Thanks.
Scenario:
In an old house, the main fuse board is next to the supply intake, which feeds sockets, cooker, immersion.
For the lighting, there is a separate sub-board in the centre of the house, fed by a 2.5mm T&E distribution circuit from the main board.
This 4-way sub-board is antique, cast...
So any advice for what to do with loft insulation around GU10 light fittings with 6W (240v) bulbs in?
At least one or two of them are to be under boarding too, so not much height above the top of the fitting and the boarding? (Couple of cm maybe?)
Just a quick one.
And I right in thinking I would take N/E from CU in shed to first fitting, take L from CU (with an E from fitting) all the way to switch, run switch L back to fitting and then just Dasiy L/N/E to next fitting?
not a lot of info on the web and didn't cover fluorescent fittings...
I've just picked up a lighting job fitting occupancy sensors through out a building. The wiring is to be in T&E clipped direct above the false ceiling and terminated into plug in ceiling roses. Its the first time I've used occupancy sensors and was thinking of terminating the sensor wiring in a...
Hi Guys
I have a kitchen downlight job -10 LED units, no dimmer required. Roof space above (bungalow), with about 3 layers of insulation including polystyrene balls and stuff you can't make a hole in.
I've priced for a JCC GU10 fitting (Part B,C and E compliant), GU10 LED and an Insulation...
I see from the building regs, that these type of fittings need to be hard wired, and should not be installed via klick's, or any other plugin system.
Can anybody elaboarte on that?
