Hi..just wondering if anyone knows of a product that let's you have flush fitting lighting grids, i.e an eight gang fast fix box? Are they all surface, can't find anything on the Internet? Cheers
I know there are few out now that look ok, like the nest models, but still smoke/heat/CO detectors are very unslightly. One of the biggest complaints from customers, can rouine the look of a nice kitchen. Usually don't agree with customers but they are right in this case!
Hi,
First post, first time doing anything electrical.
Have bought a nice new IKEA Sinnerlig light for my nice new house I moved into last week. Have removed old ceiling light which was a cheap plastic one than screwed into a cheap plastic base plate that was screwed into the ceiling.
Anyway...
Hi guys, saw a product advertised in professional electrician a while ago but can't remember the name. It was a plastic device to clip to the back of back boxes so that those pesky plasterers don't plaster your back boxes over or not reach anywhere near them - as like what happened to me on a...

Has any manufacturer come out with a compliant flush mounted CU? The ones I can see have either a plastic back and a metal door or a metal back and a plastic door.
It looks as if compliant CUs will have to have opaque metal doors. In this case I can't see the point of the door being some sort...
Hi,
I see bonds like the one below from time to time, what was the point apart from ensuring that an installation fault to earth would give you quite a tingle?
I've never used or connected a rotary isolation switch before, but job on, got to supply fit 2. Are they so designed that cables enter top /bottom only? If I installed T&E flush could I enter isolation switch from rear. Max size cable would be 10mm T&E. I'm thinking I might struggle due to size...
Hi Guys
I'm often asked to replace a standard pendant fitting with a flush fitting having no compartment for connecting loop in/out and switch wires.
Apart from buying a fitting with said compartment, the obvious solution for me is to fit a 'Round 35mm Deep Dry Lining Box' in the ceiling first...
Any one out there ever needed to fit a recessed socket so the plug would fit flush with the wall. On a job and my customer need this so they can fit a piece of furniture close to the wall.
Would there be any demand for some sort of recessed socket in certain situations??

Hi Everyone,
Hope someone can point me in the right direction.

Hi,
I've recently moved into a 1970s built house with stud partition dividing walls. The electrical fixtures and fittings are quite dated, so I've decided to replace all the sockets and switches and also to convert single sockets into doubles whilst I'm doing it.
Unfortunately when I came to...
Looking at a new build which has wooden cladding on the outside. Client doesn't really want a white 'flush' meter box ruining the look of the building. Is it possible to get a true flush mounting meter box so that it can be hidden behind a door in the cladding? All the standard ones I've seen up...
hi,
i run across those things once on a big building site.
havent got idea how they are called, cant find it either electrifix, toolstation or tlc catalogues.
they are kind of yellow plastic frames. they go between accesories (sockets switches etc) and newly installed boxes in the walls. you...
Anybody know if these are available???
Putting a number of outdoor sockets which the standard surface mounts are fine but I need something flush mouted (single) to house a sound system module keypad, as it's going half way up the wall and would look awful in the postion it needs to be mounted...
