Questions from a perspective future electrician

Hey everyone- I am almost 25 now, and I've been working pretty menial jobs for the past 6 or 7 odd years. I had been putting off college, university, etc. for some time now, and after doing some more research and some thinking I've realized how much my life could benifit from a job in the...

Part P future with no HIPs

With HIPs now scrapped, how would the the LABC ever find out if notifiable electrical work has been undertaken in a house without notifying them, unless something went totally wrong i.e. an electrical fire perhaps? Not that i have to worry about my sound installations causing a fire of course!;)

Hi, I have just bought a bungalow and am rewiring myself, along with fitting a kitchen, bathroom and a general update of décor. I have been off the industrial spark tools for 15 years but have 17th edition. The place has a large workshop that I just don’t have the time to complete to a really...

So guys what do you reckon. I'm 52, redundant and have 30 years in the electronics & radio industry behind me, with the last few spent driving a desk and being a so called "consultant". I also have an honours degree in Electronic Engineering. I want to do something meaningful for the next 10...

Chaps, If a shower is rated, say at, 30A, cable installed through loft, about 10 meters to CU, no insulation near it, would you install 4mm T&E with a 32A MCB for ease? Came across an existing install today with a shower (albeit, fairly old), installed in this way and i just could not think of...
