Just been looking at some metal halide lamps that are made to fit into sodium lowbay fittings. Are they as reliable as using the correct lamp the control gear is designed for?
Never had experience of them before so don't want to advise of using them then find they're no good.:icon11:

do you lads use a voltage tester and proving unit for your assessments or are they ok with using your all in one meter for the voltage during safe isolation? then prove your meter on the live side of the isolator on the tails?

Just wondering where peeps are buying their CCTV gear from these days. I usually use the Challenger kit from CEF, but they're getting a bit pricey for my likeing.

I am aware that a lot of old switch gear contains asbestos where the old fuse wire carriers are inserted. I am curious as to what is the correct and safe method remove this. Is it necessary to call in an external contractor as i know they can be pretty pricey.
