HI everyone,
Is it acceptable to wire a hand dryer from a ring final in to a 13 amp FCU. The ring main in question has 30MA RCD protection.
Or, is it best to wire a new radial circuit for it??
There is a socket I can spur off that is easy to get to.
Thanks
Hand dryer in a disable toilet, states on hand dryer instructions needs to be 1.500 m away from sink,it’s impossible due to design of toilet.
Hand dryer spec from architect & metallic,is it really necessary to fit it that far away.
Newlec NL9-AHD Hand Drier has just stopped working. Power is going to it, the thermal fuse is okay and there is a low voltage supply going to the sensing circuitry. I will do a few more tests, but if unsuccessful I would be interested to know where to have it repaired. Alternative if I could...
Not sure if this is the right forum, mainly aimed at Trainees, I have some unwanted used hand tools, insulated screwdrivers, couple of meters (multi) loads of other useful tools that might suit a trainee who is strapped for cash, I live in Northampton there are far to many tools to post, so it...

At the Church I attend, two hand driers need replacing in the toilets. One is a sensible distance away from the nearest water - about 1.5m - while the other one is very close to a basin. I understand that a toilet - no bath or shower - is not subject to any special regulations. Nevertheless...
Hi Folks
Sorry, cable rating question! No doubt this has been asked before and I apologize profusely for not trawling the boards to find it but time is short.
Part of my brief is to install two 13 amp single sockets with single core on a radial circuit, (its less than 30m length and in PVC...
Guys i'm doing an EICR at the minute. Do hand dryers for public use require RCD protection? Wired in singles in earthed steel pipe, no bath or shower in the room........
I've had a few recommendations from other contractors from recent EICR's stating that there should be RCD protection to hand dryers and water heaters in toilet areas of commercial buildings. There are no showers in these areas, the wiring is mostly surface (plastic conduit) and its not domestic...

Got to connect 4 x electric hand dryers tomorrow in 4 x different toilets. Was going to spur off the nearest socket point for each one, with an rcd spur by each dryer, via trunking/conduit.
Silly question, but do they need to be rcd spurred, if there is no shower???
Believe it or not they come...
