Hi ... I've made a silly mistake by not taking pics of wiring before starting a tumble dryer belt change. I hope someone can assist.
I changed the drum belt on my Indesit condenser dryer IDC8T3B, but the heater did not come on and I noticed a loose orange wire next to the controller. The drum...
Hi,
My electrician removed an old Creda storage heater connected to only 1 off peak supply and installed the SSHE070 but as the power is off peak he cannot set it up.
He connected it up but it has not come on over the off peak period.
Has he missed something?
He asked me to contact Dimplex but...
I've been asked to provide hot water in a small kitchen, no room for a storage tank, any recommendations on under sink heaters? The largest demand will be a pot wash sink so it needs to be hot and reasonably quick.
Hi all, 37 years ago when I installed storage heaters for Norweb, believe it or not, we used fibre rawl plugs. If you know you know..chewed the end to splay it out...:)
Fast forward 37 years and I'm about to replace an old Elnur for a new Creda heater. Does should a product still exist...
Don’t know if anyone can help me. My car heater blower is getting no power until the car gets up to running temperature only then will it kick in. Once up to running temp it works great on all settings. I have changed relay, resistor and the motor but it’s still the same… any ideas?

Hi there. I want to install a simple bathroom heater in my bathroom (this one: Wall fan Heater 7 DAY Timer PTC bathroom workshop electric wall mounted Remote | eBay - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/183692212680). I have an unswitched fused spur in the bathroom close to...
I'm installing a Rheem Retex-27 27kw electric water heater. While it's not required by the code where I am, I'd like to have a disconnect switch for it. It requires 3 40A double-pole breakers with obviously 2 wires for 240V coming from each, so total 6 gauge 8 wires plus ground coming to the...
Hi,
Obvously im not an electrician, but i can just replace this broken "fuse box" at this heater with insulated crimps instead or something similar, without blowing up the house? Not sure what the connection is in the broken one (see attached). Has this odd metal bit on the back of it. Any...
Hi, I have a customer with a Storad SR140-3 storage heater (in the bathroom), which does not work. The resistance of the elements is ok. There does not appear to be any onboard controls but situated outside the bathroom door is the charge controller (I think). I have never seen one like this...
Hi,
I'm about to switch to an energy tariff whereby i think it would be better/cheaper to heat my water via my immersion heater and not my gas boiler.
I have a plain old switch attached and wanted to install a new WiFi-enabled switch or, failing that, a timer switch.
I've just opened up the...
hello all!
i have a dimplex aspen asp20 heater that isn't working properly!
the light, flame effect, and fan all works fine, but when the element (or both elements) is turned on, it cuts out after about ten to twenty seconds, and can't be switched on again until it is powered off for ten...
Hi,
I am in the process of setting up a diesel heater to warm our conservatory and need to provide 12v power to it. I have purchased a CCTV distribution box which essentially has a 30amp convertor wired to distribution board. My plan is to remove the distribution board and wire the power...
Hi.
I'm having an issue with an old style storage heater. A workman disconnected the storage heater to lay new flooring under it . For some reason the installer removed the wiring completely, rather than keep it wired in . He then re wired as originally done. . Since then the heater...
Hi, I have a new Dyno-Glo Garage Heater that I connected to the breaker, and it won't turn on. Multimeter reads 120V going at each node in the heater.
Breaker is a double-pole 30 Amp Stab-Lok, rated for 240V.
I'm not sure how to troubleshoot further, and I'm hoping for some direction, please.
Someone wants me to put a water heater(30 amps), range(40-50 amps) and dryer(30 amps) all on a single 60 amp circuit. I said that's a bad idea.
They have a 100 amp main panel and all these devices would total 100 amps minimum. I am hesitant to run all these off the 100 amp service even with...
Hi,
My flat uses an Economy 7 tariff. When I use the boost heater, it works fine. But the off-peak water heater doesn't heat up the water overnight. The bottom element on the tank connects the off-peak switch and I've tested there is no electricity in this wire during the night.
I'm not sure...
Hi, I know it's best practice to run an immersion on a dedicated circuit but am I OK with the following
A new heat pump is being fitted and it has a wiring centre in the airing cupboard next to the cylinder, the wiring centre requires a 3A switched spur to power the circuit board a diverter...
We are replacing our Economy7 hot water cylinder due to a leak that has two immersion heaters and an indirect coil from our multi-fuel stove. My plumber has only been able to find a cylinder with one immersion connection (plus the two 28mm indirect coil connections).
Is there a way to switch...
Hi all,
I have a Dimplex Quantum Storage Heater displaying the message "school lock". None of the buttons are working as a result. Any ideas how to rectify this?
