I don't know if this is of any use, but I undertook my 204 exam today, passed with an distinction. I found it pretty easy and if there is anyone about to take it, don't panic or worry. It's a pretty simple exercise in taking a few readings and documenting them. You also have to explain why the...

Hi
Just wondered if anybody could give me some advice. I have nearly 2 years experience as working as an electrical improver. I'm 35 years old so an apprentice is not an option because of the low wage and evening courses are generally 6pm to 9pm and wouldnt make the class on time from work...
Hey guys. Just wondering how you prepared for the Practical Assesment? If you have already completed it you would know that there is 1 practical Job and 1 testing job. I am a little nervous as you only get 3 strikes and after that you're out (failed the whole course I think).
So can someone...

Hi;
I am in the process of changing careers and am working through the qualifications required to enable me to become self employed. I have passed the Part P assesment and am shortly attending the 17th Edition,2392 and the 2391 course. Is it worth me enrolling in College in September to attend...
I have just received my NVQ Level 3 certificate!! FINALLY!! :))))

Thank you guys!!
I have a multi choice test coming up on the 16th, it's slightly worrying because my teacher said that most of us will fail from judging our progress. I'm not sure if he is just saying that as he want's us to do some revision or he is being serious :(. I have revised all the nearly the whole...
I have bought some books but I would definitely rather have DVDs, CDs, anything that you can watch because reading books is so boring that every 10-15 minutes I completely loose concentration which leads to giving up.
I know the basics- Ohms law, Power, Joules, C.S.A and Length.
But I am not so clear on Lenz's law, Faradays law and some others which I can't even remember.
Sorry if I come across a bit thick, This is my first year of electrics.
Hi, this is my first post to this site. I'm looking to study to be an electrician with no experience as yet. I understand the level 2 2330 course is the starting point for qualification, then level 3 -> 17th Edition -> NVQ3 etc...

I am starting to struggle with keeping up with the Jobs. And I'm scared I will not finish them and fail the course. I feel comfortable with the theory but a little nervous about the practical side at the moment and I'm actually loosing sleep over this.
Any tips for me? :(
Thanks.

Hi all, first post so please be gentle.
I`m currently studying with OLCI construction. I chose the 'become an electrician' course, and they threw on a few extras eg Part P, Pat testing,17th Regs and Solar panels. Marvellous. I`ll have finished my level 2 at the end of November, and have been...
I have over the last few months received many speculative CV's from people looking for employment with my company as electricians. A worrying trend seems to be developing. A number of them are from people who have attended intensive courses for NVQ level 2 and NVQ level 3. Level 2 takes 8 weeks...
