Does anyone know of any equipment that could be installed on my dad's PV system that would close a switch (or operate a relay) when generating and feeding back to the grid and drops the switch/relay out if it is not generating enough to feed back to grid. Thanks in advance
I have been trying to get my head around a question from a client who wants to be able to continue charging his tenants electricity at the import rate when they are using the generated electricity from the PV.
If a meter is fitted between the CU and import meter will this measure the exported...
Guys (n' girls of course)
I have just started using a 1653B FLUKE and when testing earth loop impedance Ze (ie. impedance of supply - tested at supply origin), I presume I use the 'LOOP IMPEDANCE' setting (line to protective Earth L-PE) using the Z1 Hi current setting, and NOT the 'Earth...
Just wonder if anyone could clarify that it is possible to get an accurate measurement of roof size and pitch from the ground without ladders. Is this done by laser, google earth ? As thought the most accurate way is to use a tape measure and ladders.
Hi,
Looking at ordering a cheapo voltage for odd jobs around the house, what are single pole voltage indication and phase rotation test used for?:D
Thanks
I'm going to be fitting a new CCU where the earthing arrangements at the property are TT. Obviously I will need to measure the electrode resistance to earth and as I don't have an earth resistance tester I was hoping to do it as described below.
I assume the result is the number I enter on the...
Hi All,
I have a fairly large site that is fed by two seperate supplies via PME on both. If the supplies are feeding two sides of the same premisis there could be a potential difference between the main bonding from both supplies.
How would I measure the PD between the two different main...
Hi
I wondered what tips people have for measuring roof areas for pv?
I have been estimating, which has worked well on 2 installs but on 2 other ones i had to take 2 panels off the quote!
I am to upgrade a shower circuit from 32amp to 40ampand am just checking the test procedure! The location is a private flat in a large house of four private flats, to measure ze I will have to turn the power off to all flats. my question is 'is there any other acceptable way of getting a ze...
Dear all,
I have what I hope isn't a silly question, I have a circuit on my CU that powers the spark ignitor for the gas hob, the inner workings are obviously all tucked away and pretty inaccessable, to that end how would I measure the resistance, should I measure from the CU end by...
guys,
Im getting confused, done a ze reading L-PE and got 0.46 ohms but on on site guide says should be 0.8 ohms do i just put the reading down on EIC. Or is this o.k  all zs readings are within limits
Hi eyeryone,
Has anybody got the best (simpist way) of measuring a radial circiut with a DOL controling a Fan, This is on a Rig at college, on which I will be tested on next week. I want to be able to prove polarity at the same time, as in a light radial for example.
Thanks in advance.
:)
Hello all, I am after some advice,
I have just bought a megger 1552 tester. I was "practicing" with it today as I am a novice when it come to inspection and testing. I found the instruction manual a bit naff. I was trying to do a Zs/earth fault loop impedance on a radial circuit and the meter...
Anyone with any IT knowledge know of any commercial grade meter for monitoring units consumed that is designed for use in a hosting server rack, ideally with IP access?
Thanks!
Also - message for Shakey, I tried to thank you on the other post but it wouldnt add it to the thread for some...
