    Why leads should be unravelled.

    Just had to strip this out. it was plugged into a 13a socket and supplying a chip pan fryer which was rated at 2Kw Unfortunatly it was nicly rolled onto the spool and the magnetic effects built up a lot of heat.

    I've just visited a commercial property where the flourescent light starter had melted, i checked the circuits, polarity insulation etc but couldnt find anything wrong, has anyone any ideas why this may have happened?

    Plastic bayonet light fixture melted. What's the problem?

    My landing-light bayonet's plastic housing has melted. Naturally it needs replacing but I would like to know what may have caused it and what should be done, please? ie Too much voltage etc? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
