Hi,
I'm an electrical apprentice and wanted to know why the loop in method is preferable in industrial applications to the three plate method. I've learnt these methods at college but it seems that people at work think they're the same thing.
Thanks
Hello.
Can someone explain to me the methods of wiring a switch? I beleive there are 2 methods; 1. Taking the supply to the ceiling rose and 2. Taking the supply to the switch first and then to the lights.
Thanks

What are you preferred methods for chasing walls for new wiring and recessing back boxes in;

when confirming auto disconnect of the supply it is necessary to determine the external earth fault loop impendance of the system. What three methods can this be achieved?
So the external earth what loop impendance is the supply companies end is that right?
Where more than one type of method is used do you record each one used? i.e A/B/C
Or do you record the most common one?
Also cables buried within a block wall, i.e chased in & capped or equivalent which do you use?
Is is acceptable to run YY cable through box sections (square or rectangular tubing) that form the structure of a machine tool? This is for power and control, all 48VDC or less.
Would it be good practice to route the cables through flexible non metallic conduit where it penetrates or passes...

I am having trouble determining between reference methods. Which reference method is it for flat twin & earth cables in joists under floor boards and in the ceiling in a domestic property?
which reference method for-

where there are more than one reference method ie. one section run in an insulated wall and alsoanother section in plaster on a masonary wall.
kindest regards
