New system, string or micro inverters

Hi all, I looking at having a new solar panel system installed in kent and would like some advice if you could spare some time. I have been looking at getting installed around 6-8 kw system. If I go for an 8kw system I would have shading issues on a bottom row of panels (spaced over two roofs...

    Optimisers or micro inverter?

Hi. I'm looking to get a full 4kw system installed and have had 3 quotes. 1 I dismissed as the company didn't check out too well. The other two quotes appear to both be reputable companies with all similar credentials and warranties. The main difference is one is favouring solaredge and the...

Solar Edge, Micro Inverters, Leap of Faith?

We have been looking at a job with considerable shading on what would be the main location of panels. It is a big late Victorian Semi where we can probably get ten panels on one side and a further 6 on the flat roof above. Nearly all the shading comes from a chimney stack located on the outside...

PV Array Testing and Micro inverters

Struggling to find a great deal of information regarding how to conduct testing and complete the PV Array Test Report. I thought there would have been many people facing the same issues. I don't have a copy of BS EN 62446 at present. Does this include any information specific to testing micro...

Solar Edge (or other micro inverter) advantage when shading is minimal?

Just wondering about your thoughts on whether I lost a job to a technically deficient but more expensive design. Basically a customer has a fairly large tree due west of his roof but has been convinced that the shading is severe so he should go for a more expensive quote using micro...

    Canadian and micro inverters

Hi guys, were hearing stories about an installer from Birmingham buying up all the solar guide leads and going in cheap as chips on Canadians and micros. We've lost a couple to them but by the time we get to the customer they are absolutely convinced that Canadian are the best panels and...

    Micro inverters for pv

Hi ive been reading about new PV panels with a micro inverter on the back, in effect generating AC from the back of the panel. Two questions How does this work with G83 re cutting the feed in the event of gridloss. Earthing, I know its out of the zone, but its generating AC will it need to be...

    PV & Micro- Gen

    Solar Wdge monitoring

Would it be worth asking for these on a roof with zero shading? Kind of like the idea of being able to monitor each panel and the fact it's ethernet. This bluetooth for SMA really doesn't impress me.

Enecsys micro inverters - advice required please

I am going to be installing these in the near future on very small installations. My question is this; Does the array still require earth bonding as per TL systems? and also, do they suffer the same issues with regards to tripping 30mA RCD's? All help appreciated
