Any ideas anyone, viewed a job today and the guy wants 8 panels fixed horizontally on the south facing wall of his house, we use a standard schletter system, should i try and fit at a slight incline or fit at 90'.
I'm looking at reducing my material costs , can anyone reccomend a cheap mounting system for a standard pitched roof/concrete tile set up? I currently use renusol .
I have read that the consumer unit needs to be mounted on non combustible material,
what do you do in the case of a consumer unit replacement when the old one is fitted onto wood, chipboard, mdf etc that also has all the dno equipment fitted, on an older property, the original cu or fuses etc...
To do this well can be a little problematic or expensive to say the least.
The construction of the vast majority of Scottish Roofs includes sarking or close boarding. A layer of planking (normally around 22mm thick) or other material is nailed over the top of the roof trusses making a solid...
Does anybody have contact details of sub-contractors they wouold recommend that install the field pile driven mounting system. We are situated in the West Cornwall area?
I have been 'given' a job (friend of friend) to install 6 panels on a flat roof at their property, i have not installed any flat mounting systems as of yet so wondering if anyone can recommend a good kit manufacturer?
Any advice appreciated.

An electrician has fitted a new Consumer unit to replace my (very) old unit. He has mounted it on a 5/8" ply backboard and then screwed that to the plaster wall. Is that OK?
We have a customer installing on Decra steel sheet roof. It is a corrugated steel sheet that is made to look like tiles. They are nailed to a wooden sub structure. Has anyone fitted onto this roof covering type before, and if so what type of fixing did you use to attach the rail?
We have...
*previously in this saga... We're in the process of changing from Schuco to Schletter mounting kit because our supplier convinced us it was just as good and would save us a fair amount of money*
So we're now doing our first schletter installs, and I don't know if it's just a case of 'fearing...
Anyone know of a flexible in roof system that would work for all panels? We've looked at a few over the last couple of years but never actually got round to doing one.
We are in the middle of doing a commercial project, and have 5 Mastervolt TL Inverters that weigh about 60KG each. Ideally these should be wall mounted.
However, as it goes in the construction business, our requirements have been ignored, and the space that was required for us has not been...
We're thinking about moving across from Schuco to Schletter for our mounting kit, mostly for cost reasons, plus it does look to be pretty decent kit.
If anyone uses / has used the kit, I'd appreciate any opinions of it good or bad relative to the schuco kit before we take the plunge.
The final...
I am looking at a project on a brand new build with a kingspan insulated roof overlaid with a rubber membrane. The client is looking for a 10kW installation on a roof with plant equipment and the architects didn't really give any thought to panel spacing to allow for an angled array. As a...
Anyone know of a decent priced mounting system for a flat roof (balast required) mounting system which will hold panels in portrait - I can only see landscape ones!
Has anyone installed a Renusol Intersole system on a plain clay tiled roof? I can't see any reason why it shouldn't be ok, but it's just that every example I've ever seen of it shows it installed on thicker pan tiles.
Presumably it would be ok but would sit a little higher than normal?
I have a job to install a flat roof system to a garden outbuilding at the end of the customers garden, Does anyone know if I need planning pertmission ? my understanding is that if the panels are mounted greater than 1m from the roof perimeter I wont require it? If this is the case it would not...
Hi, has anyone ever used or come accross a mounting structure for modules to be fixed vertically on the side a wall? Only for 12 panels in 2 rows of 6 portrait on the side of a school. We normally use schuco for everything but they dont have one.
(Just want to add "great forum", everyone who...
I actually had an enquiry! The roof's a little unusual though so i'm looking for a decent black framed mono 250W module that will allow mounting rails to be around 600mm apart without voiding warranty and with a good (5000Pa +) mechanical resistance.
To save me trawling through any more specs...
