Hi forum,
I’m planning some garden lighting and would like to try an minimise the amount of cable I’m using. I have a number of different lights/circuits in one area of the garden so was planning to run a multi core cable to a convenient place then make connections from there. All the lights...

Quick tech help question, I’ve got two large high spec new builds to wire up early summer and they’ve both got wet underfloor heating my task is to wire it up obviously. I’ve never done one before and it’s also got 5 room stats upstairs alone. Have any...
Hi Guys,
Completed an EV charging course a few months back. Looking to explore that growing corner of the market. My Megger 1720 multi function tester packed up recently. Always pretty happy with my Megger, but I'm looking to get a tester that has integrated EV testing and comes with its own EV...
Hi Guys,
I have a ceiling fan with a two wire 4.5 uf 250V capacitor that has gone bad (fan motor spins very slowly). I cannot find and 2 wire capacitors with this rating (closes is 3 uf) but there are some 5 wire capacitors with one of the connections of the 4.5 rating. Can I use that capacitor...
Hi guys,

Stupid question I'm sure...but...I have this Timer (V0DDTS), a live and neutral wire coming from the wall, a live and neutral going to the fountain pump...how do I connect it? Once connected what setting would give me 1min of power on, and then 5min of power off?
Feel kinda dumb must be honest...
A recent dilema.
When inspecting some wiring in an office block,we have discovered that the previous sparkies have fed the lighting via a multicore swa cable. This has about six feeds and neutrals down it,and the common earth sheath. It is fed via six seperate mcbs at the dis board.
I know it...
Have a 3 way light switch (three separate lights) one light works (middle switch) 2 don’t. Think that the 2 that don’t work shorted out when a multi socket plug was inserted in adjacent room. That plug still works. Anyone got any ideas?
This has me clueless. Why must the neutral be unearthed at the transformer and generator and only allowed earthing at the switch-gear?
I can't see any reason because the neutral will normally not be carrying any current and thus no parallel current paths would form.
I want to purchase a 10 socket multiplug extension that's 13amps. Does that mean I cant go above 13amps on the whole 10 sockets? I'm thinking even if i put 4 3amp plugs on it I can't use the other 6 so seems pointless having 10.

hello all,
I need a heating solution for a small unheated toilet.
Ideally a wall fan heater that is multi controlled so not on unless occupied and temperature is cold enough.
was thinking a thermostatically controlled wall fan heater (so regulated to operate below a reasonable temp only) AND a...

Hi
My bungalow hall lights can be turned on and off from 4 different switches.
I was expecting these switches to be a mix of 3 way and intermediate switches, but all 4 of them are just 1 way switches.
I now have a problem that my hall lights are permanently turned on, and none of the switches...
