Hi
I have a pull cord ceiling switch with a neon light. Everything is fine but when the neon Light Is off, the fan works. When the neon light is on, it doesn't. I will attach a picture but the only difference is a link from one end of the nylon core to the fan live.
thanks.

The old switch grid had neons that worked fine, since we have moved the switch the neon...
Hi Guys
I was using a neon screwdriver in friends house, to confirm the power had been removed at a ceiling lighting junction box.
The junction box was to be replaced - a straight swap as something in the attic had fallen on it and cracked the casing.
I brought in the feed live, neutral and...
Hi All
I need switch for storage heaters with a built in neon that indicates when the heater is actually on and drawing power, not that the circuit is live (hope that makes sense)

Hello all,
I have spent hours looking at this 2 gang, 1 way switch and I can not for the life of me figure out how to get the neon light to come on with BOTH switches! One conductor from the neon has to go into the neutral terminal, the other into L1 on one of the switches, which means the neon...
Hi all
I have some unused new/boxed Duraplug FC4134WHI which I bought for a recording studio/live rooms project which ended up being a far smaller venture than I imagined! I'm now selling on those surplus to requirements.
When I looked into what extension sockets to use in my studio and...
Contrary to popular belief they are not fishing weights, neither are they a substitute padlock for the garden shed. No. A neon screwdriver is designed to be the perfect size to remove layers of paint from slotted screws so they can be removed with little or no swearing.

Another thread on the forum got me thinking (no small task)
I have, especially on old or DIY installs come across neons in switches wired between line or switched line and cpc.
How big a sin is this ie what code on an EICR.
I am aware that too many may well cause an RCD to trip.
I am also...
Hi guys I found about a 1000 of these bulbs in the loft after doing a bit of a clear out , just wondered what they are, if they are any use to anybody in this day and age?

Hi all.
Upgraded an old Wylex single fusebox for a combined RCD/MCB unit today, also replaced the pull-cord switch as it was approx 15 years old and was getting warm after a few minutes use.
Anyway, all good - shower working, isolator working. Only thing is when they went in the bathroom later...
