According to a recent article in PE magazine.
The installer appoints a registered third party certifier.
The scope of the work to be inspected is agreed and the work starts.
Within 5 days of completion, the third party certifier returns to inspect and test.
and issues........wait for...
Does any one know, now that they have dumbed down Part P, if you have to register to sign off someone else's work or if you are already a member of a scheme you can just do it. Plus what certificate do you use because if you haven't installed it surely you can't use a EIC. Maybe a EICR?
thanks chaps
my notifable work is getting less and less, even more so with latest changes, so i am thinking i would be better off just jacking the nic and getting another spark to sign off work that needs part P its not just the money, it would save the hassle of yearly assesments, etc i am going to start...
Ok guys have a question. I have registered with NICEIC. As you guys are aware they need 5 jobs to be assessed. Now my problem is all the jobs I have done have been signed off by a third party. Now can I still show them as my jobs and re do the tests myself and certify again.???
Thanks
Hi all ,
Spoke to napit today as i have heard all different things about 3rd party certification , they have said that it should have had the go ahead Saturday just gone but it has been delayed till october ,, what are your thoughts on this , i can see it will help some companies who just test...
Customers had a fall out with there spark and now want me to come in and test his work. He's modified several circuits. Is an electrical condition report for the modified circuits the way to go? He hasn't put some of his work on a rcd either
I've heard that as of today you can get a third party to come in and test and inspect your work as to sign it off. What's the difference between that and being a subby and having the company you work for at the time come in and sign it off. Which is allowed already? How is this third party thing...
With the changes to part p, I was wondering what you registered lads charge for a EICR. This is relating to a rewire ill be completing myself. Just wondering if its better me going down this route instead of LABC. If I'm honest I'd rather give my pennies too another spark than the council, they...
I've always been adamant not to sign anybody else's work off. However I have somebody not Part P registered harassing me. (he's a mate).
He's also a spark and has just been laid off and doing foreigners at will. However he's come unstuck with customers are asking him for the certs.
He's...
Does anyone know what is happening with the new 3rd party inspection system that is coming in with the changes to Part P.
E.g. how do I find someone that is allowed and insured to do the inspections?
I'm looking to register with napit as they seem to be the cheapest( not always better I know) but as I don't get a lot of my own stuff find it hard to warrant paying nic prices, any napit members or ex with positive/negative info?
Just on a job. Guy wants couple of sockets and lights in garage.
There is already a SWA installed from hour to garage but not connected either side. Customer assures me qualified electrician buried it when the house was rewired a couple of years ago.
Just done IR tests and all serms to be...
I'm trying to help a friend of a friend with a mis-sold PV system and I was wondering if someone could help.
I know that the rules were being changed with regard to MCS and responsibility whereby the installer is responsible for the WHOLE process - including selling - even if they only carried...

Hey,
so there have been so many discussions about the Pirate parties in Northern Europe - they mostly say they represent the interests of internet users. E.g. they are for the free use of internet and very popular in Germany at the moment. What do you guys think of them?
Evening all. Been approached by a mate of mine to possibly set up power distribution for a gaming LAN party.
Being of the domestic ilk this is a new one for me.
He's already looking at various locations including conference centres etc but we need to look at his power requirements.
The event...
This looks fun. It comes into effect on December 1st:
To Quote:
"A contract for the sale and installation of a system shall be entered into only between an MCS certified Company and a Customer. An MCS certified Company may carry out work under subcontract to another MCS certified Company in...
Had a house party at the weekend, it was great, loads of family and friends over.Anyway, my nephew fell asleep so for a laugh we shaved one of his eyebrows and drew a willy on his forehead.
My sister went berserk when she looked in his cot.
