What are your thoughts on this scheme?
The client account is free for me through my bank but I do like the idea of the full amount being available so no chance of getting scammed, but the £25 price tag is yet another expense?
Hello,
Can anyone suggest the best possible way of getting the money back off a customer who won't pay?
It's a conservatory company we worked for installing all the power for it.
It's been ongoing since February and I have took a very down to earth approach about claiming the money back.I...

Have ever noticed how, when you want to make a point in a presentation, no one really seems to be paying attention? Here's a guy who's got it licked. None of his students will EVER forget the point he was making:

What can one do if a contractor they subbed into won't pay?
He has been fobbing me off since mid January.
Speaking to other sparks, this seems to be his trade mark tactic.

Hello,
I have a new electrician doing some work for me but i'm unsure at the rate he is charging and how long he is taking to do the jobs. I think he is taking his time on the jobs to make it feel like the amount we are paying him is justified.
At the job the inverter, isolators are already...
We are revising at our hourly pay scale for our 17th edition electricians and wanted to gauge the current market rate.
A ball-park figure would be a help if you don't want to put the exact figure.
Asked to put a new 32amp cooker circuit into an old wylex 6 way board. Explained that I needed to split meter tails and install a new CU with RCD protection for cooker. Suggested a new CU for the whole house but customer unwilling to pay and insists on wiring new cooker circuit to old board...

Right as you probably know all the JIB titles have changed, again.
Part of me likes the masses of definitions, but my question relates to what do they mean?
One in particular.
Provisional electrician.
Can a provisional spark work on site unsupervised, or does he need to be watched like a...

I was after the opinions of other Electricians on pay for PV Solar work. I'm on £120 per day before deductions. I have to travel 2-3 hours to most jobs. I'm the only Spark on the job and I need to fit the inverter, isolators DC side, do the AC cable run and fit the isolator and a new board if...

At the moment I'm lucky if i get 1 in 10 quotes converted into jobs. I've found the most successful approach on large jobs is to provide the customer with a bill of materials listing all the parts and costs, a scope of works with details of estimated man hours and a quote with the final...

Hi Guys,
I'm sure it has happened to quite a few of you but I was wondering why do companies not pay newly qualified electricians the full rate when they qualify ? Let me know you experiences ?
